2006 Dodge Durango SXT with Police Package White 89k Miles Description 2006 Dodge Durango SXT White with Full Police Package 89k Miles Offered for your consideration is my 2006 Dodge Durango SXT. When I refer to a Police Package I mean it includes everything but a uniform. I bought this truck just a couple of months ago to use in my business – I work as an Escort for Oversize/Over-Dimensional loads. I found it to be nicely set up for my intended use. But I’ve come to realize that on occasion I need to carry passengers, and this truck can’t really handle that. And if I have to pull into a truck stop for an overnight with some privacy I can’t do it in this truck. Prior to my taking title the truck was owned by local university campus police. It has strobe lights installed in the front headlights and rear tail lights (all operable) as well as two clear/white strobes mounted in the grill. At the top of the windshield there is a set of Whelen amber strobes, hard-wired into the center control console. Mounted to the windshield is a Decatur Electronics Gemini Plus video camera with full functionality, connected to a floor-mounted monitor, which records to DVD. The DVD recorder is mounted to the front barrier and I do not have a key to access it. There is a Jotto Desk “Contour Console” with a functioning Unitrol Touchmaster Delta controller and a Federal Signal “Signalmaster” control for a Federal Signal 6-head arrowstick, which is mounted in the rear window. There is a locking shotgun holder (which I do not have a key for), and the front barrier (cage) has a functional sliding window. There is a heavy-duty computer mount assembly bolted to the passenger floor. There is an operable siren/horn/PA switch, but the wires have been cut at the speaker. There is a full steel cage behind the second row of seats with a lattice top. This truck has the 4.7L V8 engine which is much easier on gas then the Hemi. The truck has a grey cloth interior, and the seats and front carpeting especially have seen some heavy use. Many of the plastic parts around the front seats are cracked, which doesn’t affect seat function. The truck currently has 89,100 miles on the odometer and has a current PA state inspection expiring 9/14. I have a single ignition key. No owner's manual, The COBRA CB radio and antenna, the chrome CB external speaker, the rooftop amber lightbar, the Garmin GPS unit, and the amber/white LED mini lightbar in the windshield are not part of this auction and will be removed from the Durango before delivery. NOTE: This vehicle is for sale locally and the Seller reserves the right to cancel this auction at any time. Odometer reading may increase as vehicle is still in active use by Seller. NOTE: The police equipment alone is worth over $6,000 (Federal Signal traffic arrow bar, Whelen strobes, computer stand, light/siren control console, prisoner barriers, Video Cam recorder, etc.) Please use the attached photos as a guide to vehicle condition. A $1,500 repair. I've been driving the truck for months now and on the highway and on the street the truck handles just fine, with no problem with the power steering. It is in the parking lot where the power steering becomes an issue. At both the far left and right rotation of the wheel the steering "whines" and it becomes hard to turn. I only notice the problem getting into and out of a tight parking space. You can decide whether to repair the rack or drive it the way it is. Please take this issue into account when bidding.
