bargainh2osports Store This motorcycle has been listed a few times on EBAY by me and another. I started out helping a friend and now almost 2 years later I still have the bike!!! Since I have had control of the bike I learned alot about it. Like the tail light lens is not the original, nor are the hand grips or the ampmeter... Since the owner is not with us and the history of the bike is not well known I have spent enough time with the bike to have learned these things are not original, BUT THE TIRES, Nacell, Wheels, Seat, Headlight, frame, motor, and parts ARE!!! IT is REAL and mostly Genuine.. This Listing is for a Used Vintage Unrestored, Rare, 1959 Triumph Bonneville T-120 021658, 650, shown in the pictures in this listing. 585 Miles total. 583 on the Trip Meter. Color: Tangerine, Pearl Gray. History - this Triumph Bonneville T-120 motorcycle was purchased new with 2 miles on it late November 1958, and ridden ONLY 583 miles as shown on the trip meter. Over the years the guy must have moved the bike around and broke the tail lamp and replaced it. The hand grips were changed , and the ampmeter somewhere in the owners last few years?? Contition: The Motor turns over and the compression take was 130psi on the left and 105 psi on the right. This is with the carbs stuck almost shut. Put some KROIL in the cylinders and the compression came up to 150 psi left and and 135 psi right. The magneto has plenty of spark to both cylinders. The fuel is system is frozen from time. The carburators are stuck closed along with the fuel valves and remote float. The fuel tank is dry and has some visable rust as does the bottom of the tank cap. The seat material is in good condition but the piping around the edge has detiorated and half gone. The motor oil and gear oil looks used but not black. The right muffler has some corrosion on the top. This Bonneville has a NEW YORK vehicle Tag and registered as a 1958. Registered in NY, 2 owners , both the same last name brothers.. SOLD WITH AN INVOICE AND A NY REGISTATION. NO TITLE TOO OLD. The original paper work delivered with the motorcycle are included. This includes: The Export Instruction Books cover ( beat up), Tthe Instruction Manual No.14 for Twin Cyclinder Models for engine numbers from 0945 (very good), Triumph Bonneville 120 Supplement to Instruction Manual No. 14, Good conditon, AMAL Hints and Tips for Monobloc Carburetter, good condition, How to keep your Motor-cycle Tyres Fit, good condition, Safe Motorcycling with Triumph, good conditon. The Original tool kit in a leather pouch is also included and stored behind the battery case cover. Inside of the battery case has some corrosion from battery leakage.. The bike does not run and has not for the last 54 years. As can be seen in the pictures all the numbers on frame, motor, are matching. Included are the Manuals and books that came with the Export Instruction Book envelope.. The factory dispatch records show that T120 021658 was dispatch on 29 Oct 1958 to Triumph Corporation with gearbox number 104202 order number 2880A. The wires, cables and hoses are soft and are in good shape, amazing. Have had many professional Triumph mechanic's look at the bike. They estimate $1,000 to $3,000 to make the bike operational. Would recommend you have it checked out by a professional Triumph mechanic for this vintage motorcycle, to get your own independent opinion. Have gently cleaned the bike, but there is still 50 year old dirt on it... First-of-the-line examples of iconic models are always highly prized by collectors and none more so than the 1959 Triumph T120R Bonneville. Hurriedly prepared for its debut at the 1958 Earls Court Show (it was too late for inclusion in the 1959 catalogue) the 'Bonnie' arrived at a time when young motorcycle enthusiasts wanted style as well as substance and had the money to pay for it. Finished in striking two-tone Tangerine/Pearl Grey with matching mudguards and black cycle parts, the bike was a real looker, and the name 'Bonneville', chosen in honor of Johnny Allen's record-breaking achievements with his Triumph-powered streamliner at the eponymous Utah salt flats, was an inspired piece of marketing. Although, ostensibly, the Bonneville was little more than a T110 fitted with the splayed-port cylinder head and twin carburettors, there was, of course, more to it than that. As well as the performance-enhancing top end, the Bonneville, together with the rest of Triumph's twins, incorporated a new, stronger crankshaft assembly that development had shown was necessary to cope with the increased power. The latter now stood at 46bhp, an improvement of some 15% over that of the contemporary single-carb T110. Works tester Percy Tait had achieved 128mph at MIRA on a development bike, and even though this figure proved beyond the reach of the production version, the Bonnie was at least as fast as the opposition and much better looking, which was all that mattered. That first 1959 Bonneville was the only one of the many versions to feature the headlamp nacelle. Only the first series produced had the distinctive 'Tangerine Dream' livery, while other features unique to these early 1959 models were the stepped dualseat and touring handlebars. As usual, there were minor differences between the UK and East/West Coast USA models. What you see in the pictures is what you get..
