2004 Land Rover Discovery SE Black Only 104K Miles No Reserve! True Off-Road SUV Description This is a re-listing due to a fraudulent high bidder! Offered for your consideration is my 2004 Land Rover Discovery SE. This is no ordinary Disco as you can see from the auction photographs. Aside from the standard equipment, this SUV (better described as the ultimate All-Terrain Vehicle) has a full front brush guard, full-size cargo carrier with roof racks, and a recovery box bolted to the cargo carrier. The truck has auxiliary lighting components including an exterior work light (switch controlled) mounted over the rear door, fog lights (switch controlled) mounted on the brush guard , and off-road halogen lights mounted at the roofline above the windscreen. Add a snorkel and winch and there’s no place you can’t go with this vehicle. The interior includes a removable dog/cargo grate. If you know these trucks then you know about the problem they had with sagging roof liners. Not a problem with my baby! I had the fabric headliner removed and the entire roof professionally sprayed black with the same material they use to coat pickup truck beds. No more sagging headliner, it’s ultra-durable and looks great too. They were around before sport utility vehicles became must-haves for city-dwellers and shopping-mall mavens. Land Rover earned its legend in Africa and the Australian Outback, bounding over rocks and hills, fording creeks and rivers, thundering along the savanna, creeping through tall grasslands among prides of lazy lions lying in the sunlight. The Discovery was born in England in 1989 and introduced to North America five years later. It immediately set about spreading the Land Rover experience, by driving overall sales from 4,906 in 1994 to 23,826 by 1997. Discovery was redesigned for 1999, and a new chassis and suspension made the Discovery Series II a smoother highway vehicle without compromising its off-road capability. The Discovery Series II boosted overall Land Rover sales another 30 percent. Land Rover invested $190 million in its factory in England in 2001, taking advantage of the resources and technology of its parent company Ford, and improving quality control. In 2003, the Discovery received a more powerful engine, a proven 4.6-liter V8 first introduced in the upscale Range Rover in 1996. There are some 350 other changes to the 2004 Discovery, most notably new headlights and front-end styling, and refinements to the suspension and brakes. But the vast majority of the improvements are details. For the money, it is really hard to beat the looks and creature comforts found in this Land Rover Discovery SE. What you should immediately notice is that this is not the same-old, same-old Disco. This truck has enhancements that truly set it apart. From the Java Black exterior to an almost mint black leather interior, this truck will get you noticed, and get you where you want to go in grand style. Is it an Acura MDX? NO. Is it an Infinity FX? NO. Is it a Jeep Grand Cherokee? NO. But those trucks can’t take on the Kalahari. This one can. Everything works 100%. On August 7th Jaguar Land Rover of the Main Line did a PA State Inspection and the truck received a $1,000 Dollar tune-up (plugs and wires.) This truck runs incredibly strong and is a blast to drive. The interior is in amazing shape, with only a few slight cracks in the driver’s armrest. Apart from that the interior looks as it did from the factory floor. The Disco has just under 104K miles. Is it perfect? No. But there are no dents, and only minor brushes and scratches. There is some fading to the after-market items, notably the brush-guard and ladder. The lights over the wind-screen worked until this past fall, and need either a new fuse or new bulbs. And that’s it. I have the full-set Owners Manuals and the original Window Sticker. Imagine...this truck sold for $40,000 New. Independent inspections are encouraged and welcome. Inspections are at the perspective buyers expense. The truck has an 18" lift, 18" from the ground to the bottom of the rocker panels. The tires are BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A Baja Champion LT 265/65 R18. The tires passed Pa. State Inspection just fine. You can expect them to be noisy on the highway as they are basically off-road/all-terrain tires. The Pa. State Inspection stickers are good through 7/14.
