1985 CHEVROLET CITATION II This car is back on eBay since the the winning bidder of the past auction backed out after winning the car. This was her explanation: Hello, Sad to say, I thought my bonus was coming in but it turns out it's not going to be for another 60-90 days. This is sad because I really wanted this car, my grandfather had one just like it. Please feel free to offer the second chance offer to the bidder below me. This one has the "Iron Duke" engine that was a Pontiac brainchild 2.5L 4cyl engine that gets an amazing 38mpg on the hwy! This 4 door hatchback was also Chevrolet first front wheel drive car to the market. It has power steering, power brakes, air conditioning and more. This car only has 90,000 original miles on it! And this infamous engine will literally last forever. The car runs and drives very well and is all original. The radio and CB radio with PA system also work well. The A/C blows cold air and all the windows work, because they are old school manual crank windows. The rear lift gate operates great and there is a ton of storage in the back. The interior is in very good shape for a car of this age. The tires and hub caps are in good shape, and they are 13's so cheap to replace. The brakes are good and have good decent thickness to last for some time to come. The interior is very clean and all original. The previous owner was mechanic and took great care of this car until he stopped driving. It also has his handicap parking pass on the glove box.The car had the original owners CB radio and antenna that has since had a PA system installed and is great for talking to your friends in the sidewalks as you drive by. I have taken the liberty of upgrading several engine components since acquiring it such as the starter, alternator, battery, distributor cap, rotor, plugs, fuel filter, muffler (glass pack Cherry Bomb) and more. Basically its ready to roll for another 90k miles. The car could use a carb cleaning or adjustment since you need to give her some gas when sitting still to prevent stalling. Once she is moving she runs great. It starts right up and doesn't smoke. I have installed a three point seat belt harness in the driver's seat since this car is pre air bags and I wanted more safety. The paint is all original and there is very little rust on this car. The car is not required in CT to pass any inspections or emissions test base on its age. These Citations have a very loyal and strange following. There is even a Yahoo group "Citations Forever". This car draws allot of attention from the older folks at the golf course.
