Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a one of a kind vintage mini bike. It is a small Cat mini bike from the late 60's era. A really very nice bike. It has a very rare NOS Tecumseh Two Banger Two Stroke engine. The engine was fired up for the first time ever when we put it into this frame. As you can see in the video it runs absolutely beautiful. The engine was actually made for a mini bike. In the early to mid 1970's the engine was painted at the Tecumseh factory in this cool USA motif. This is not your normal four stroke Briggs or 4 stroke Tecumseh engine. It has tons of torque to pull an adult, a lot of speed at the top end. The bike does not even sound like small engine. I added a small chrome pipe to direct the two stroke exhaust onto the chain. It can of course be removed later if so desired. I did find some literature on the engine on the Teke Two Banger Engine online which I will include with the bike. Of course feel free to look it up yourself as well to see how really rare this engine is. Per the information located, the engine appears to be a 125cc or 133cc. I am not sure but it is either a Tecumseh 817 or AH750MB engine. But whatever engine it is is incredible and the most impressive mini bike engine it has been my pleasure to see and ride. The tag on the engine shows T-1557 and 6794631. The other side of the tag is stamped 5-15-72. As this engine had never been fired and had been sitting for over 40 years I went ahead and put a wrench on some of the nuts and bolts in order to remove some of the covers to inspect some of the parts prior to firing the engine. The engine reaches max HP at 6000 RPM. It has ball bearings on PTO side of crank and needle bearings on Mag side of crank. The crank shaft is forged steel, the connecting rod is forged steel as well. It has needle bearings on both ends of connecting rod. Engine is light weight at about 15 lbs. f you take a little time to look up this engine online you will see a number of terrific articles on it. For those of you who have checked out the bikes we have had the pleasure of building over the years, you know we typically start from the bare frame up, media blasting, etc. This little beauty was no different! We painted this bike with the 1960's era Corvette Blue Base Coat Clear Coat. Many new parts went into the build of this rare vintage mini bike, including a new chain, clutch, grips, pegs, seat, precision wheel bearings, braided fuel hoses, tires and of course the NOS Tecumseh engine. As the bike nor the engine ever came with a fuel tank we located a vintage chain saw fuel tank and custom fit it to the bike. The tank is a two sided tank and is very clean on the inside. The tank has two separate sides, one large and the smaller side that can be used as the reserve if you get to far away. If you are drag racing, etc you can also just turn on the petcocks and use both sides. As you can see, the bike is more for a collector or an adult sized person as it is fast and has lots of torque and power. Bike pulls hard right off idle and has a high RPM engine. Please note that due to the engine being NOS and never run before it has only test time on it and will need to be broken in prior to going full force. Bike starts easily and idles nicely as seen in the video. Bike also has some very nice and rare CAT wheels that correct for the bike. I doubt I will ever see another one of these mini bikes with this very rare factory engine designed for a mini bike from the 60's/70's era again. Our reserve is low and we are excited to be able to offer this very unique and rare bike for sale. If you would like to see some of prior work be sure to visit our website mayerbrothers.net.
