Vehicle Detail
Your bidding on a 1967 Volkswagon pickup truck that has the front end of the van but the back is a flatbed with the sides down and a pickup with the sides up. The truck is for sale by a brother in law of mine that is disabled and can't restore it as he planned. It does not have the original flat or pancake type engine. Him and a friend put in an engine from a VW beetle which works and the truck does run and drive. I took a lot of pictures of it but it was in a garage so space was limited. Overall I would say it is still all original except for the engine and the door handles on the inside. The rest looks right to me. I am not an expert but do know a lot about cars and trucks. As for the miles we can only go by what is on the title and the speedometer I didn't see the title yet but the speedometer reads 42,084. My guess is probably more since the original engine needed to be replaced. This is an Excellent truck for restoration and souldn't take much as compaired to what most of the trucks like this will look like after all these years. Please message me with any questions and I will get you the correct answers as quickly as possible. This will be a buyer pick up deal only, we will not deliver it and any pick up method must be arranged by the buyer. This is an AS IS Sale. A NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF $1000.00 is due at auction end The balance must be paid via pay pal or another approved by me method before you can pick up the vehicle. or at the time of pick up in cash. Title must be transfered at time of pick up to satisfy legality of the sale. Please ask all questions before the auction ends. Thank you for looking. The truck is for sale by a brother in law of mine that is disabled and can't restore it as he planned. Since I listed this vehicle I have found that there are several mistakes I made in the original listing. I said it doed not have the original flat type engine that should have been in this truck. However I have learned that the engine that replaced the original engine was a beetle type engine so the engine that is in the truck is the correct engine for the truck. It is not the numbers matching or original one and it is not available since it was changed in 1984. I took a lot of pictures of it but it was in a garage so space was limited. Overall I would say it is still all original except for the door handles on the inside. The rest looks right to me. I am not an expert but do know a lot about cars and trucks. I have also after cleaning the inside of the truck to answer questions that there is some rust holes in the floor. They are not major and are one on the drivers side in front of the seat and one on the drivers side on the floor towards the front of the truck at the base where the bottom Front corner of the door closes. The last one is on the floor of the passenger side where the bottom Front corner of the door closes. I have taken more pictures so if you want to see them send me your email address or message me I can send them in ebay messsages but I don't know how well that works yet. I have also taken pictures of the under the bed compartment some call a treasure chest. There is no rust holes there though that I can find but i have the pictures if you want them. Thank you for looking. On Apr-11-13 at 18:08:04 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello everyone. I finally got some pictures of the underside of the truck. I had to use a jack but they are pretty good. If you want them I would prefer to send them to an email address. ebay message system take forever to download them and send them. I can safely say You will be VERY hard pressed to find a truck like this with a frame and all the rest underneath in this good of a condition. You WILL NOT need welding! I can find NO holes under there and the frame is solid. The jacking points are extremely good and the jack I used to pick up the truck did not budge them at all. This will probably be the last one of these trucks you will find ever from what others that looked at it have told me. I have recieved many Very generous buy it now offers but in order to be fair to all I am leaving it up to the bidding. The winner of this truck will be a lucky bidder. I tried to start the truck today for the 1st time in 20 years and could not get it to start It turns over well but didn't start. i think it is a stale gas problem. I'll try to resolve it before auction end. It did run when the truck was parked, but has been in the garage for all this time untouched. The paint is original kind of a pale green or maybe light blue it is worn and does need a new paint job and some surface rust repair and the front floor area as in the pictures. I also found another rust hole section in the back passenger side where the battrey box is but it is on the outside and easily repairable. This will be a simple restore for almost anyone. On Apr-12-13 at 19:26:09 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok should be the final revision. I wanted to add the pictures of the underneath or the frame. I can't do that because I am at the limit of picture I can have in one listing. The frame is in VERY Good condition. The suspension supports have no rust. There is surface rust and some undercoat pealing but that is about it. The jacking points are VERY solid and don't move or budge when jacked up with a floor jack or otherwise. There is one more rust hole I found today when I put the sides up on the drivers side. It is just behind the treasure chest door and a little hole just under the corner of it. The main rust hole though is about 6" long and oval shaped. i can send a picture if you want. I prefer to send pictures to email addresses. Ebay messages take 15 mins to half an hour for just 3 pictures to upload and send. I don't have that much time to keep up with all the requests. I don't think I missed anyone but if I did please message me again. Ebay doesn't allow email addresses although some have gotten them trough. If you can't send it in an ebay message split it into 2 messages just don't use the at symbol or the dot use a dash instead. and try to avoid com and the word dot together with anything. It will get your picture request taken care of much quicker. Thank you for your understanding. Sincerely TomOn Apr-12-13 at 20:36:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello; I found a way to list the additional pictures of the frame and such. All rust holes are there as well and the frame and all that as well as I can get them. Go to Item # 380620006266 to get there open another ebay page and type in the item number then click search or hit the enter key. That is a listing but for pictures only. DO NOT BID THERE. You must bid from this listing. unless you want to pay $100,000.00 for it. And can't read. Once again any questions please ask before bidding. I have truthfully to the best of my knowledge listed all I know about the truck and it is as I said before probably the last or one of the last you'll ever find in this good of a condition unless it was restored already. Best of luck with your bidding. Remember to look at the other pictures in item # 380620006266On Apr-13-13 at 18:43:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello; I have a problem now with my pay pal account. Do not send any payment without contacting me. Someone has access to it and I have to take care of it on Monday. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CALL ME AT 570 -- 952 -- 5051. I will have to change the bank information and the pay pal information before you can send payment. I may be able to do this on line tomorrow but I am not sure. I think the bank has to be open to confirm information with them and pay pal to get all this resolved. I am sorry for the bad timing of this and for any inconvenience this will cause.
