Start Slideshow Stop Slideshow Next Image Previous Image In 1946 Buick once again combined the large Series 70 Roadmaster body with the economical Series 40 Special power plant to create the Series 50 Super line. Basic styling was continued from 1942 now sedans had the front fender sweep across the doors to the rear fenders as did the Sedanette and convertible styles. A stamped grille with vertical bars dominated the frontal ensemble. Single stainless body trim lines began on the front fenders and ended at the rear edge of the standard rear wheelhouse shields. Standard equipment included an automatic choke, clock, ash receiver, turn signals and wood grained instrument panels. Exterior series identification was found on the crossbar between the bumper guards front and rear. Cloisonné emblems carried the Super emblem. Compound Carburetion was eliminated and the compression ratio was reduced to 6.30:1. The number of body styles increased to four with the return of the Estate wagon after a six year absence. A total of 119,334 units were sold. The front suspension was independent with coil springs. This beautiful California Pro Touring 1946 Buick Super Sedanette is a rarely seen body style that has been mildly customized but still retains the original look. With an all new drive train, paint and interior this car needs nothing. Over $75,000 was invested into this Buick to make it what you see today. Finished in a gunmetal gray, the body is very straight and solid with all doors shutting as they should. The trunk has been shaved of its trunk handle to give it a smooth, clean look. The stainless trim around the car has also been deleted for a smoother look. There are a few minor imperfections to the paint, mainly around where the hood and doors meet which is common for these cars. Inside, the interior is all new and looks great. The reupholstered seats look great with no wear to be found. The carpet is equally as nice as well as the door panels, kick panels, headliner and carpeted area behind the seat. All of which looks new. The gauges are the original style and look great as well as the original AM radio which is still in the car. There has been a set of Sunpro gauges under the dash that show water temperature and oil pressure. The column is new as well as the custom steering wheel which is the original style, but in a smaller diameter. Under the hood, you will find a brand new 350 Cu In V8 crate motor with new transmission and rear end. The motor is fuel injected and controlled by an Accel DFI unit which works with no problems. The original software and cables are included with the purchase if any reprogramming is needed. The car has power brakes, rack and pinion steering and an updated A/C unit which blows with no problems. The front brakes are discs with drums in the rear. All of the suspension is new and has been updated to give the car a lower, more aggressive stance. We recently had this car out for a night on the town and it got more than its fair share of looks and thumbs up. It drives like a late model car and will cruise down the highway at 75 mph with on problem. The wheels are from American Racing Wheels and are 17’s all around. They are wrapped with BF Goodrich G-Force tires that have good tread life all around. The trunk has been nicely carpeted and has had an electric ram installed to open and close it. The switch is located behind the driver’s seat. The current mileage shows 74,050 and the VIN number is 14446876. The car is being sold on a clean California title. Buyer and Seller hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts of Missouri to specifically enforce the agreement to arbitrate and to enter judgment of and enforce the award of the arbitrator. Once full payment has been received, Seller will fax a copy of clear title, Bill of sale, Buyers guide and additional DMV forms to the Buyer to sign and return via fax.
