1956 Clipper Custom 4-door Sedan 61,000 original miles Over $9,500 put into beginning restoration New master cylinder (brakes) Totally overhauled V-8 engine Interior partially restored (headliner & carpeting) New battery Refurbished radiator New dual exhaust 4 new Coker wide whitewall tires Runs good. Body mounts need to be redone. It would make a good winter restoration project. Needs some body work, as far as I can tell. This car was only built for a few months as a stand-alone make. In late 1955 Packard model decided to divorce the Packard Clipper from the larger, luxury Packard. This lasted until January 1956 when the Packard name plate was added back to the Clipper automobile. This car is one of the few Clippers without the Packard name plate. Packard as a luxury car maker ceased a few months later. It reemerged as a poorly redesigned Studebaker. Packard finally died with the 1958 model. I have found I do not have the time, place or ability to do the necessary work on the car to bring it up to the condition it deserves to be in. I really want the car to go to a person who really understands the history of Packard and appreciates what Packard stands for.
