What a great find! This is a nice 1965 Corvette Convertible ready for restoration. This great 1965 Corvette Convertible was nice driver quality restoration prior to a recent collision. It currently needs repair to front end fiberglass, driver side fender, driver side door and driver rear quarter panel. Car runs and drives. Before we run down the good and bad of this car, let me point out some highlights. This car runs strong and is well optioned.While it has a non numbers matching engine, it is a genuine 1965 Corvette 396.Unknown whether this was an original big block car or not. Car was originally maroon with black interior. Let's run down the good and the bad so you can be educated bidder: GOOD: Convertible top works well and looks good. Interior is very nice with very good LEATHER seats. Original Clock still works! Frame and undercarriage is SUPER NICE, no rot on frame. This is a solid Corvette. Fitted with nice reproduction KNOCK OFF wheels (not bolt on) with gold line tires. Desirable power windows work great. Also has power disc brakes and power steering. Interior is complete and very respectable. Aftermarket am/fm radio is present and works. Equipped with optional seatbelts (dated 1967) Runs and drives (lot driveable, not to be driven on roadway). Four speed transmission shifts good. Engine runs excellent and is a complete genuine 1965 CORVETTE BIG BLOCK 396 with proper intake, distributer, heads etc. It is NOT the number's matching engine for this particular car but is a correct 65 Corvette 396. BAD: Car suffered a hit in/along the driver side. The accident damaged the door shell, rear quarter and driver fender. The windshield is shattered and the front end is cracked by headlights. No suspension or steering damage. Body has its share of minor cracks which is typical for these cars. Mileage reads 80600 but due to its age, we cannot verify its accuracy.While not a numbers matching engine, the potential is there for a GREAT BIG BLOCK cruiser! Do not miss your chance!
