Vehicle Detail

No Reserve, first bid or best bid owns it! Original restored 1935 Ford Deluxe Rumble Seat Cabriolet for sale. The 1930 to 1936 Ford open cars are the most collectable of the early Fords and have held excellent value even in hard times. This car was appraised at over $40,000 5 years ago, since that time it has gotten a few minor paint scratches, cracks and blemishes, even at the buy it now this will be a great value for the next owner! Although it is not a 100 point show car today, it would not take much to detail and correct the minor imperfections! This car had a frame off restoration about 10 years ago and was repainted a correct ford color ,Vineyard Green about 5 years ago. It was correctly disassembled for the new paint, and I spent about $25,000 on the paint job! With red spoke wheels it is a real eye catcher! It is an all steel original Henry Ford car. The upholstery is Lebarron Bonney with Leather seats. The correct original Ford Chocolate floor mat is nicely matched to the rear dark brown carpet. The top upholstery is also new this past fall. The engine is a rare LB inserted bearing engine with model 68 heads, although I have not pulled off the engine pan to confirm this. It has always started and run well for me. The engine compartment looks nice, but the exhaust manifolds have rusted slightly and could be re detailed. The transmission gears are upgraded to 1946-48 synchromesh gears and it downs shifts with ease! The only mechanical flaw are the brakes. This car had rod type brakes, that work great when well adjusted. In fact for 7 of the last 10 years this car braked better than my hydraulic brake 1948 Ford. I have not driven it a lot, it has 3815 miles since the frame off restoration. I think the drums got a bit corroded over the last few winters as it does not stop as well as it did a few years ago. I "rode" the brake pedal for a few miles and that improved it, but it may need to have the hubs pulled and wire brush the brake surfaces. I know 10 years ago the drums were turned down and matched to each shoe, so I don't think in 3800 miles it needs more than removal of corrosion with wire wheel or brush. The fenders have a few minor scratches since the new paint and I have the original green paint for touch up. All chrome was redone 10 years ago. It is not as sharp as when it was fresh, but a good polish should brighten it up a lot. All the deluxe gauges work, but the Oil pressure sometimes does not register, maybe the sender has some gunk in it. I have drained the new gas tank every winter and I have not put enough gas in it to see if it registers. This car is missing a wiper blade and arm, but has the passenger side post to add dual wipers, Also missing are a drivers door lock, side mount antennae, and a transmission boot. I believe Mac Antique Auto carries all these parts. It has the rare heart shaped wiper as well as the rare electric clock, both which are untested. The radio head is present but the radio box and cables are missing. I have included an old radio box. Extra parts include the an old dash lite switch and spare tire rim, two piece cover ( with fresh paint) and a lock. An old heater, radio box and replacement fog lite lens are included, as one one the car has a crack. Vineyard Green paint from the repaint is ready to spray on any touch up areas. It is difficult to describe all the details of a car I have owned for many years, feel free to give me a call at 414-333-1931 in the evening. Bid with confidence, I have sold for 12 years on Ebay and have a nearly 100% positive feedback! I may be able to deliver for a reasonable fee, send me an email with questions or call. Ford 1932 33 34 35 36 convertible coupe cabriolet roadster hot rod all steel On Jun-10-12 at 17:10:52 PDT, seller added the following information: A few items I wanted to mention. I do not have the clock wiring or a retaining bracket for the clock. It should be easy to make these up. The glove box inner structure is here but not installed because I was not sure where the wiring goes. One of the inner door handles has paint chipped off. The numbers match on the title although they are faint on the frame. The body style is listed as "2DR" which it is of course. I have been told many of these old titles were not very descriptive, and every state handles them differently. This title may have been shortened at some transfer from 2Dr convertible to 2DR.
