Vehicle Detail
I am selling a 1967 Mustang Convertible, built in San Jose, CA on November 10th, 1966, for the price of $6767. As specified in the Mart Report, this is one of two convertibles, built in ’67 that were painted white with a deluxe aqua interior and the GT option. The other is a manual shift car, making this the only GTA built with these paint/trim codes. The restoration does not need a major amount of work, BUT it IS a project car. It runs and drives but is not drive worthy. I am the third owner of this car. When I first got it, I power washed the entire car. I was amazed that the undercoating of the car was extremely heavy. What I found was when the paint was removed from the chassis, the original white gloss paint was still in excellent condition. The undercoating protected the metal and none of the frame has any significant rust. The frame is in beautiful condition, as are the torque boxes and rocker panels. The front half of the whole car was stripped and restoration was started four years ago. The metal was prepped and detailed with red oxide and semi flat black paint. The original 289-4V engine was checked, refreshed and detailed, including the original smog system and carburetor. Front end was removed, checked, detailed and reinstalled. Doors are original and rot free. All other body parts are either original or OEM. Interior is complete, less seat belts, and needs restoring. Top is unripped and rain worthy. Magnum 500’s were added on, but I have the original 14” wheels and hubcaps. All the necessary parts to complete the car are included, along with some new parts, and some duplicates. The car runs and drives but the brakes need bleeding and there is no exhaust beyond the front pipes. This car does not need a tremendous amount of work. When it is finished, it will be a true gem for the road. I planned on finishing the car but I already have a nice 67 GTA convertible that I drive a lot. I have put myself into a very serious financial situation and need to sell this car, along with a few others. I am also selling a 1966 Mustang coupe, owned by a Boston Ford executive in the day, loaded to the max. Add to that a 1971 Mustang Sport Coupe, made for three months in the spring of 1971, with original paint and interior, in beautiful, rustfree condition. Also up for sale is a 1973 Q code Mach 1 with original drivetrain and paint, with less than 60K miles on the car.
