Vehicle Detail

AT NO RESERVE!!! Beautiful 1994 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon, two owner Texas car, never any rust, always garaged, owned by elderly man who maintained journal and maint records back to 1997 when he bought it with 17,000 miles. 96,000 miles to date, body is in excellent condition, paint is shiny, all rubber trim pieces are in good condition, glass has no cracks or pitting, wood grain panels are almost perfect, no parking lot rash, trim pieces are losing the wood grain like they all do. Easy to tape off in place, sand, and paint. The rubber trim pieces were attached with screws but can be removed and glued with 3M 5200 black marine adhesive which will fill the screw holes. Drives very nice, straight down the road, tires have 8000 miles, no strange noises, towing package but never a hitch so never towed anything. Interior is very nice, leather is supple and shows no wear. Carpet is clean, non smoker. Car recently had professional detail including compound, wax, steam clean carpets, wheels cleaned etc. NO damage except as noted below. No leaks, or strange noises. AC blows very cold, cassette radio works, power antenna. Donut spare, rear facing seat, all original equipment intact, cargo net, roll up cargo cover. I recently bought a 1996 wagon with 103K miles and had the suspension completely rebuilt, springs, bushings, ball joints, shocks, steering box, and I don't think it steers any better than this car. I am sure the shocks are original as it is very soft riding and a little bit boaty and floaty. Plan on replacing the shocks. but that is the only mechanical issue I can find with this car. This car is a great candidate for a quick and easy restoration on the wood trim pieces or as a daily driver as is. The LT1 engine is amazingly fast, brakes are great. All electrical items work. Front dash has no cracks and is not faded. A few cosmetic differences between the '96 and the '94. '94 outside rearview mirrors are smaller and mounted on the door instead of the door window frame, the seats are more comfortable, the center console stays open to hold drinks which makes the arm rest shorter, the '96 is a better console design, These wagons are hard to find with the body in such great shape and low miles and with all the trim pieces and the chrome without dents. I would much rather deal with mechanical issues than cosmetic issues with these cars as the trim and wood grain is impossible to find. The wheels are spectacular with no curb rash, tires match, and were balanced and rotated recently. Engine oil, Trans fluids, and radiator were changed on schedule. Parts replaced over the years: water pump, serptine belt, platimun spark plugs, new passenger side muffler, thermostat, front brake pads, turned rotors, alignment, Car has current Texas egistration and inspection thru Nov, 2012, clear Blue Texas title. Has original spare, jack and wrench, owners manual, two key remotes, maint records. Here are the defects and I am judging it against a new car: headliner above driver door has some scratches, small pin holes, maybe he wore a hat and it caught on the headliner or used his hand on the upper door jamb as he drove with the window down Driver door window switches has a loose knob and the black paint is worn, I would replace it. Small oil can dent on lower left of rear tailgate within the wood panel, hard to see, almost have to feel to locate it, about 2" diameter Front grill appears to have been bumped and some of the tines are cracked but not bent, loose, or missing, hard to notice, superglue would fix it trim pieces around wood panels are peeling the clear wood grain film. Don't think you will find an original Roadmaster without this problem Right rear door window jumps track, but they only open 6 inches anyway so I usually leave it up, Hey, it's Texas, we run the A/C! The small interior lighs in the rear exit handles inside the tail gate don't work, probably bulbs Top of steerring wheel is at 11o'clock when going straight down the road, although the alignment is spot on, tracks straight, stops straight, no pulling. I am just picky about that. Steering wheels turn green on some cars, you can paint them with vinyl paint to look good as new One small scratch on right front hood near headlight, one inch long X 1/8 wide, visible in photos, only scratch in paintwork! Missing the "BUICK" plastic nameplate on the right rear tailgate, you can find them on ebay Overall a great example of the superior riding King of the Road. I am getting 18.5 MPG in my '96 in town and running 75 when on the freeways. It pulls the tongue out of my 1963 Winnebago trailer!!
