Vehicle Detail
This is a 1971 Mustang Convertible that is still being driven when the weather is nice. It is a pretty solid car and a true survivor, although it is showing it's age and needs a new home and owner for some TLC and restoration. I am a vintage Mustang guy and I drive my 71 and 73 whenever time allows me. I met the owner of this car years ago and we exchanged numbers and became friends. Last year he called me and asked if I could sell his car for him, being that times were tough on his end and he didn't want the car to be sitting and deteriorate. I posted the car on a couple of Mustang websites for the winter figuring someone wanted a ragtop for the spring and could play with it over the winter. Although the car generated a lot of interest, it is still unsold and thus being posted on eBay for sale to the highest bidder. The car was built with the options listed below. I have the original Marti report. The owner kept records on the car for everything that he did to it, including every gas fill up and maintenance detail. He has the window sticker, the ad from the newspaper when he bought the car in 2000 with the original engine rebuilt. It is roadworthy and driven and a well optioned vintage Mustang convertible. Being heavily into old Mustangs, I know that a lot of true Mustang guys don't like the big body, 71-73 cars. Having a bigger wheelbase and upgraded suspension and steering, I find them to handle and drive better than the earlier ones. Of the big body Mustangs, 71-73, 1971's are the most desirable being the first year of the change. The interior is original, except for the lower drivers seat which was broken at the frame and replaced with another brown original. The door panels were restored and are unripped and original. The carpet appears to be original and needs replacing. Dash is uncracked. All gauges, lights and switches work. Radio was upgraded to an AM/FM/CD with remote. Original 15" Magnums. Read the list from the Marti report. Car was originally Grabber Green and repainted bright red. Top needs replacing. Engine is all original. Odometer shows 48, 660, being turned over once. The owner bought the car with a brand new rebuild on the engine showing 15,050 on the odometer, according to his incredible records. The engine apparently has 33,610 miles on the rebuild. The car needs metal work. The floors have holes in them. The frame looks to be in good condition. Power top works. Car passes NYS inspection. Tires in good condition. No dents or heavy rust on the body panels. Top is missing the back window but all other glass is in good condition. Paint is faded in spots.
