Vehicle Detail
It's the typical project that ran out of time and interest. So here it sits in my garage as it has for the past 8 years. That's right 8 years! 2 1978 280Z Fairlady I bought these cars with every intention of restoring one..did you notice they are both RIGHT HAND DRIVE....built in Japan and shipped back by service memebers. Even the data plates are written in Japanese. The red car is restorable, I put it up on jackstands when I started it, stripped the interior to upgrade it all, then got busy with the exterior. All the bolt-ons have been sanded to metal, repaired, epoxy primered, primed, sanded and sprayed with base/clear in the original color. You can see the result on the headlight buckets. Both doors, the hood, rear hatch, and every thing else I could remove have already been refinished. All the trim and glass has been removed for the refurbishing of the body. All the original parts are here except the windshield for the red car, which I smashed in the garage. It has the original tool kit, original wheels, the spare is an Iron Cross. I have amassed most of the parts necessary to complete the upgrade, OEM seat covers, rubber gaskets, even a set of CHROME BULLET FENDER MOUNT MIRRORS, see the photo. I know, these are actually for a early 70's 240z, but they line up and all the hardware is included, fact of the matter, this is the only set of these fender mount mirrors that I have ran across in 8 years, they may be more valuable than the car. All the original badging is here except 1 Fairlady badge that was stolen in a bag of stuff taken from my daily driver a few years ago. The motor is inline 6 cylinder fuel injected and it was running when I put it up, however, since then I have confused the plug wires and messed up the timing. It doesn't start now. The transmission is a manual 5 speed and shifted smoothly when I put it up. The parts car is also a 1978 280Z Fairlady with RHD, 6 cylinder Fuel Injected motor and straight shift transmission. It has 4 vintage wheels, all the glass except on door glass, most of the engine and interior is here. You are bidding on BOTH CARS! The stated mileage is probably not accurate. I"m sure that I've left out enough information to write a book, but email me with questions, I'm glad to answer. If you buy, I'll let it sit where it is for 60 days after payment is received. I'll put the wheels back on it and help push it onto a roll-back if needed. I've set the reserve to make sure I don't have to give them away, but if we get close I may reduce it to sell the cars. Please don't send me the "cash the check and send the difference"scams..if you are going to scam me, make it original.
