Up for auction is my 2001 Cagiva Derbi GPR 75cc repli-racer streetbike. What is a Derbi GPR? CYCLE WORLD magazine and Peter Egan did a multi-page story and test on the GPR in the spring of 2001 and concluded that for the size and the price, it was about the most fun you could have on a motorcycle. that original magazine goes with this bike as i still have it. Cagiva/Derbi only imported these for approx. 3 years and i was a former Cagiva dealer and sold 12 of them back in the day. these are wonderful completely street legal bikes and i have a clear PA. title to it in my name. it is titled as a "moped" in PA due to engine size which means no state inspection or other requirements though i always had a PA license plate on it. If Suzuki had ever built a GSX-R 100 or something similar, it would have probably looked like this Derbi. it has a liquid cooled 2-stroke reed valve case induction single cylinder engine, pre-mix fuel, and a smooth 6-speed transmission. also features electric start, Calamari performance package which includes custom reeds and a 26mm Mikuni flat slide carb. incredible performance from such a small motor and has a top speed of well over 70 mph on a flat road. Due to its extremely light weight of approx. 200 pounds, 2-stroke performance, and trick Showa suspension, it is really a blast to ride and bomb around backroads on. is completely street legal and includes all lights, signals, horn, etc. I kept it for myself when these first arrived here and i am the sole owner, nobody else has ever even ridden it other than me. It is absolutely, positively in as new condition with only 1677kmh/1023 miles on it. everything from the brakes, rotors, tires, showa suspension, vinyl, graphics, finish, driveline...everything is absolutely perfect and still in factory new condition. it has never been raced, dropped, or even in the rain....always garaged. these are extremely rare, trick streetbikes for th 2-stroke enthusiast who wants something different from the standard rice-rocket crowd. Made in Spain by Cagiva/Derbi, street legal, great parts availability, in perfect condition and pampered its entire life. also included is factory owners manual, toolkit, under tank cover storage, battery tender, new battery, original dealer sales literature and brochures, and some other paperwork i probably have for it. though these are rare motorcycles and wildly popular in europe and in particular Spain where they were originally manufactured, parts are readily available thru Cosmopolitan motors in Phila., PA. why am i selling it? 2 reasons--i am 57 years old and it just isn't very comfortable for me. It has sporty riding ergonomics that aren't my style any longer. other reason is that i own 17 motorcycles and either start thinning out the herd or shopping around for a divorce-lawyer. so i've opted to to sell a few of my bikes over the course of the next week. will also be listing a Yamha RD250 and at least one Kawasaki H2 widowmaker.
