Vehicle Detail

What a great car!! Exterior: Very nice California car with NO rust. This Car has never been in an accident! Newer Canvas convertible top is in great condition with absolutely no holes or tears. Paint is 8-10 condition with a few scratches and no major dents. All windows are in great condition with no cracks. Original Tonneau top and Boot are also included both are in great condition with no tears or rips (boot does need snap buttons replaced). ***Car comes with the original Hardtop (w/pop-out windows). Suspension: New front sway-bar including: bushing/link-ends, New bottom wishbones including: bushings. New Tie-Rod Ends. Car handles tight like it should :) Tires have lots of life (see pics), wheels are the originals and the chrome looks good. Interior: Non-smoker owned! Newer interior: Seats and carpet where redone a few years ago and look good (8.5-10) with no tears or holes. Top dash is in great condition with no tears or cracks. Back leather panel & carpet look great with no rips or cracks. Car comes with English Seat covers and proper floor mats. Engine/Transmission: The odometer reads ~68000mi. 4-speed manual transmission, with new rebuilt master clutch cylinder, new rebuilt clutch slave cylinder. Rear-end is whining a tad and may need a rebuilt. Engine was completely rebuilt less than 20K ago: replacement shortblock (Victoria British) with "76 federal" pistons specified (9:1 instead of 7.5:1), head was hot tanked, port matched to the Weber manifold, polished, a 3 angle valve job performed and all new gaskets were used (side note...we use 91 octane fuel only). Weber 32/36 Carb with washable Longflow filter. Mallory ignition with coil. You will not be disappointed! Cooling system: Extra thick radiator, **Flowtech Oil Cooler with thermostat (Made in England & adds ~1quart of oil) & Electric Cooling Fan...car runs VERY cool :) Exhaust: Headers with Monza exhaust system. Has a great mellow sound. Brakes: Front discs and rear drums. Brand new (not rebuilt) Mater Cylinder & Rear Wheel Cylinders & Brand New rear brake shoes. Car stops great!. Electrical: Brand New battery. All lights are in good working condition, including rear/front lights cabinet light, gauge lights, etc. Car is wired for an audio amplifier (see trunk/boot picture). Not installed but included (FREE) will be a SONY CD player with detachable-face & wiring harness. Alternator functions properly and the horn works great. Extras: I have all the original parts that will go with the car ie.. stock carb, intake and exhaust manifold, an extra set of 75' Chrome bumpers and other Extra parts ie..Triumph Workshop Manual, New Ceramic disc brake pads, extra trim pieces and much more. This Spitfire is a great daily driver or Sunday cruiser that gets allot of attention and is GREAT on gas (~35+MPG). It has a Clean DMV Title, is currently registered in California (till June 2012) as a 1975 (NO Smog required) and sits on a 1979 frame (better: suspension, braking system, safer bumpers, etc.). We are believed to be the second owners, have never driven this car in the rain and she resides in the garage. The only reason we are selling her is because we are moving into condo and just do not have the parking space, otherwise we would keep her. ***Here is a link to a video of this Spitfire starting & running (cold-start) from inside the car, from the engine compartment and from rear exhaust: http://youtu.be/3mAIzY1JRuc Please e-mail us with any questions via eBay or mmadrigal_ucsd@yahoo.com This vehicle is being sold in “as is” condition.
