NO RESERVE!!! I will not end the auction early & I do not have a Buy-It-Now price so please don't ask. The winning bidder at the end of the auction will get the car! Auction is for 1) 1969 Ford Mustang Sportsroof as pictured that is owned by a close friend of mine. This is a well-maintained, drivable car with lots of upgrades and a clear title in hand. He has owned & loved it for 14.5 years but with a house and expanding family has decided to let it go. It was upgraded to a 428 CobraJet engine with approx. 5k miles on it that features a Police Interceptor intake manifold, a Holley 750 Double Pumper carburetor, Fel-Pro forged pistons, Fel-Pro Stainless exhaust valves with hardened seats, OEM Ford connecting rods, a balanced crankshaft, Edelbrock waterpump & timing chain set, Crower camshaft, Summit aluminum radiator, and Hooker Super Competition headers into 2.5" dual exhaust. The transmission is a C-6 which was freshened up at the same time as the engine and has a 2500-stall TCI torque converter. The shifter is a Hurst 1/4 stick and the rear is a 9-inch Ford with 2.79 gears. The frame rails, floorpans, shock towers, and trunk floor are in very good condition. The battery was relocated to the trunk. The body is an older restoration and, along with the interior, has a few spots that could use some attention. Also included are some extra parts and spares, along with a 3.89 posi-trac gear set. According to the Marti Report that is also included, this car was built in Metuchen, NJ and ordered by C&C Motors, Inc. in Horsham, PA. The original engine was a 390 4V with a 4-speed close ratio manual transmission and a 3.00 gear ratio in the rear. He does not have the original engine or transmission. The original color was Silver Jade and came with the Sports Appearance Group with Stripe Tape. The other original options were E78x14 white sidewall tires, the Sport Deck rear seat, AM/FM stereo, color keyed racing mirrors, and wheel covers. According to Kevin Marti, there were 133,801 1969 Sportsroofs produced, 881 of those with a 390 & a 4-speed close ratio trans, 60 of those were Silver Jade, 5 of those had black bucket seats, and only 1 of those had the Sports Appearance Group. This is that car! Buyer responsible for local pickup and/or shipping arrangements & cost. If you have any questions you can email or call me @ 856-313-6200. Thanks for looking! On May-22-11 at 15:59:22 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 5/22/11- I had a few questions regarding the engine so here is what I discovered today. The block has a casting number on the front- 65 352. By the oil filter there is another 9A3, which apparently means it was produced January 3, 1969. The heads have casting numbers of C8OE-6090-N and are 16-hole bolt pattern. The intake manifold is aluminum with a casting number C7AE-9425-F, which could possibly be from a different car or engine. The owner has many receipts that he saved throughout the years he owned it, which will go to the winning bidder. The piston part number is L2303NF-60 and they were forged. The Crower Cam number is 16243 and grind 297HDP according to the cam spec sheet. He also replaced the shocks a few years ago with KYB's front & rear. While under the car I noticed the passenger side of the floor pan where it meets the torque box is rusted out. I would estimate it to be a spot 2" x 8-10" long. The rest of the sheet metal underneath is solid though. Thanks for all the interest & I will try to answer any questions you may have!
