Vehicle Detail
This is a 1957 Chevrolet Chevy Sedan Delivery with windows. This rare car was given a frame off restoration about 9 years ago. It is a rust free wagon and has very nice paint that has seen the street so it has some chips but overall excellent condition. The engine is a 350 with a 383 stroker kit. It runs great and has only a few thousand miles on it. The trans is a rebuilt Turbo 400 3 speed automatic. Not sure of the gears in the rear but it is a posi unit. Car runs and drives great. PA inspection ran out in 2010 and PA has the toughest standards. The front is lowered with drop spindles and the rear has a slight lowering kit. The Power Steering pump is an aftermarket item made for 55 - 57 chevy and is new as well. The wiper motor is a new electic conversion kit. The interior is nice and has a leather Cadillac seat and is very comfortable. The dash is wrapped in leather and the door panels are custom pieces. The body on this car is excellent. Frame and body panels are all steel. The trim is in great shape but some of the chrome pieces have some pitting. The front and rear bumpers are BRAND NEW. I replaced them because the originals were dull. The sedan is decked out with gold Bel Air trim. I know that they didn’t make a bel air wagon but it looks sharp on this car. As far as the sedan with windows I have researched these rare cars and have found conflicting opinions and facts. The trim tag is 1271 which means sedan delivery. The rear gate is one piece lift up which only came on a sedan delivery. The paint code id is black. 92 of these were made for government use and civilian use as well. Some were for forestry service others were flower cars and some were ordered for funeral homes. I am a Mopar guy so I know how important numbers are to some. I bought this car because it was cool and if it is the rarest 57 Chevy, great if not that was ok with me. This is a great street machine and is capable of winning any local car show. 57 Chevys in this condition bring good money and this is one of a kind and your investment is protected because of unique it is.
