Vehicle Detail
I am listing this car for my friend so please call him with any questions. Up for sale is my 1956 Chevrolet Nomad. There were 7886 Nomads produced in 1956, and of those left there are maybe less than a 1000. Of those how many can claim to still have the original paint color, (one repaint), interior, and power plant still in them. Yes that’s right, this Nomad still has the #s matching Power Pack 265 cubic inch v8 in it. When I bought her I gave her a complete tune up, including a professional carburetor rebuild. It runs and drives awesome. The Nomad has a updated with a By Be Cool radiator and Vintage air added, that blows ice cold . The paint and body on this Nomad is just stunning. She has 98 % of her original factory sheet metal, with all original floors, fenders, doors and tailgate. The only metal replaced was the passenger side rear lower quarter behind the wheel. It was done during a factory correct paint code of Sherwood Green over Ivory. The paint work was done around 5 years ago, and has only been driven around 2500 miles since. The interior is all original with the only the addition of a am/fm/cd player stereo, and speakers. There are no rips or tears in any of the seats or headliner. All the headliner bows are original and in excellent condition, as well as the glass. Carpeting has been laid down in the cargo area instead of the factory rubber mating. All the stainless and chrome is original and also in excellent condition, including the bumpers. An alternator has been added to power the stereo. The chassis and suspension are very clean and detailed and painted a nice low gloss black paint. It does have factory power drum brakes with all new brake pads. The wheels are American racing chrome 15x5 in front and 16x8 in the rear with new Kumo directional tires with less than 100 miles on them. The odometer reads 39,422 miles and as clean as this car is I believe it to be original miles, but I do not have docs to back that up. Reserve price is well below what you probably think, it is priced to sell to make room for another car. $500.00 is due by PayPal within 48 hours of end of auction. If you are not willing to do that then your bid will be canceled. The balance is to be done by bank wire transfer or Bank cashiers check. I’m sure I have left something out, so if you need any other info or pictures please call me at 309-642-7479 and ask for Tom On Apr-10-11 at 11:13:33 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had many phone calls asking about the reserve so I have decided to disclose it. It is $42,000. Please remember this is not a have to sell it auction. It is only being sold to buy another car. If the reserve is not met, the new car cannot be bought. Thanks, Tom
