Vehicle Detail

Yes, you may recognize this very special car. It was featured on the TV show Power Block in 2008. In addition to the $100,000 in receipts, it comes with a DVD of the show and an autographed 8 X 11 picture of Power Block host Courtney Hansen. This 1955 Chevy Bel Air is a piece of art. It was built by Bohannan Concepts in 2008. It is the best of only 3 turnkey, all FIBERGLASS, 55 Bel Airs, completed by John Bohannan. Looking at this car you would never know it was all fiberglass. The craftsmanship of the all steel reinforced body and panels is second to none and is as straight as any all steel car on the market today. Once you get past the totally aggressive attitude of this 55 Belair post, it only takes a second to confirm that this car is serious business. Although the top had been chopped, the car still retains its stock front and rear glass. It has just been angled differently. The body modifications that go along with the chopped top are, shaved door handles that open by either pushing a button hidden on the mirrors on each side of the car, or by remote. A shaved gas door, the filler is now located in the truck of car. The firewall has been recessed to allow room for the handmade fuel injection cover, creating a cool, clean, engine compartment. Both door locks and trunk lock have been removed as well. The body and chassis have been covered in 2004 Cadillac Lexo blue metallic, then wet sanded and buffed to beyond exceptional. The bumpers are 1 piece from a 55-handyman wagon, which had all bumper bolts filled, chromed, and installed with custom brackets. The custom chrome grill is part 55 & 58 Corvette and is another sign of what makes this car so beautiful. Incorporated into the frame are complete front and rear C-4 Corvette suspensions, including disc brakes at all four corners. It breathes through a pair of Headman short headers into a handmade 2 1/2 " exhaust all HPC coated finish fitted with Flowmaster mufflers and sounds awesome!!!! Keeping it cool is a all aluminum fully polished radiator with twin electric 10" fans held in place by a custom made core support. Shifting the car is a TCI shifter mounted in a custom console and 4L60E transmission with stall converter. The 55 rolls on a set of Billiet Specialties wheels, 18 x 8 on the front with BF Goodrich TAs, 245/40/z18 G Force, and 20 x 10 rear with 295/45/20 tires The custom interior is all leather interior, except for smooth the suede headliner, is unbelievably nice!! To build this car today it would cost $125k , the body and chassis alone from Bohannans is $25k, and that is before any suspension parts or body and paint work. The reserve is WAY, WAY below what it cost to build. If you need anymore info, or want to fly in to drive home, Please call Tom at 309-642-7479 On Mar-08-11 at 06:44:50 PST, seller added the following information: RESERVE IS JUST $55,000. On Mar-08-11 at 07:20:41 PST, seller added the following information: Sorry guys I left this part out in cut and paste! The front spring and shock combination is fully adjustable and also dipped in chrome. All suspension parts were light media blasted and then clear coated to really make them pop against the chassis color. The chassis itself is a one off Art Morrison designed and built by John Bohannan. The power plant under the handmade engine cover is a ZZ4 355cid crate motor, that was first sent to Edelbrock, where it was fitted with their new cam gears and aluminum heads before being topped off with a Pro- Flo-Fuel injection unit. It then Dynoed in at 431 HP. Then it was returned to Bohannans for a splash of color and fitted with a Billet Specialties drive system. It included the power steering pump, water pump, ac compressor and alternator, all polished and chromed
