Vehicle Detail

1972 HONDA 600 COUPE - Very nice and well taken care of - I've had it about a year and it had been an Arizona car most of the time before that - It's a very good running car and just about everything seems to work, even the gas gauge - I know that the owner in the very early 90's, had decided to install new crankshafts, etc. in both of his 600's, this coupe and his sedan (which I had also purchased) - it wasn't because they were bad, this was just something that he could do and wanted to do while parts were still available. He also had it repainted, but then after a couple of years, put them both in storage for about 12 - 14 years - this car had appx. 55,000 miles on it when I got it, and I've put about 3,000 miles on it since I've had it - I have replaced the jumpy speedometer with a smooth acting one, so the odometer is not accurate - after being painted appx. 20 years, you can see just a small, small start of rust under the rear bumper on the driver's side, under the bumper - I took a picture of that to show you just about the only bad, but I also took pictures of the usual problem areas to show you the good - as you can see, there is no rust under the marker lights on the fenders, and no rust under the radio antenna bracket, which are normal places for the rust to start showing up if there is any - also, I've been under the car and there seems to be no rust there or under the carpet, where it usually shows up - it does have the radio antenna and also speakers in the doors, but doesn't have a radio - the stock radio delete plate is in place to still have a clean dash - the paint has very good color and nice shine to have been painted that long ago - not perfect, but very nice - also, as a preventive measure, before being painted, the previous owner had the hood welded and braced from underneath to prevent cracking as most hoods do, as I tried to show in a couple of pictures ( if you're going to do it, do it before you paint it, rather than after ) - the matching set of Michelin tires have just about full tread, as shown in one picture - the dash has a few cosmetic cracks as is pretty normal - the front seat bottoms are cracking from wear, but the backs are pretty nice, and the bottoms and backs of the rear seats are still pretty nice, as shown - it has one cosmetic crack in the rear hatch frame, as about half of the 600 coupes do. This car was in very nice mechanical condition when I got it and it's been a joy to drive - it has very good brakes and steering - I will change the oil, oil filter and fuel filter before it is picked up - if it has needed any parts, I've probably done a few small things as I drove it, but not much, because it didn't really need much - there are cars that you buy knowing that you'll probably be doing quite a bit of work on them, and there are cars that you buy to be able to drive and enjoy - this should be one of the good kind - If it seems like I've written a book, I know this car pretty well, it's been real reliable for me and should be for the next owner - let alone a real attention getter wherever it's at - I just wanted to try and let you know everything that I know, the good ( mostly ) and the bad ( very little ) - but don't even bid on this if you're shy and don't want to get a ton of attention where ever you go.
