I LOVE THIS generation of the Mercedes Benz so much, I actaully own a 1992 500SEL myself. For those who do not know, many of the SL underpinnings and components are similar to that era of the S-Class. I also own a 1983 300SD. I would like to consider myself somewhat of a closet expert on these years of the cars!
This one is truly stunning! The real leather (not MB Tex) is in great shape. Convertibles and roadsters will often have cracked and dried leather from many years of sun exposure. This one is still soft and pliable. You can smell the leather when you get in the car.
The WOOD is imacualate! I cannot tell you how many countless hours I have spent searching on eBay for wood that matches in good condition for my SD. NO NEED here!! STUNNING!
The car runs SUPER tight. If you look at the pictures, both the interior and the exterior are not damaged by age or sun! It is simply a beautiful car!
The tires on this one look to have been recently replaced. Before the auction ends, will will have went over the basic safety systems of the car.
While this SL is not perfect... I can say with confidence that this one is about as close as I have seen in a LONG time! The radio windows and electrical all seem to work fine and the AC blows cold. This one appears to have been driven from time to time, and does not exibit and of the characteristics of cars that are garaged for long periors of time without use.
With only one previous owner, this automobile is ready for you.This is a smoke-free automobile.The engine on this vehicle is running properly.The exterior of this vehicle is extra clean.Extra clean interior. Absolutely no rips, odors or abuse.Vehicle has minor scratch on one of the bumpers and a some light curb rash on the passenger side wheels. In the interior the wood near the shifter is still in great condition, but could use refinishing in the next few years. There is also a cover in the interior mirror panels that appear to need to be rebonded (I belive this a easy repair.) Inspection Report
We perform a safety and condition inspection. Within that inspection, we mention items that may need attention, or will need attention soon.
These are the things we check:
Lights and Horn, Brake Fluid,
Transmission Fluid, Coolant Resevior Level, Power Streering Fluid, Transaxle-Transfer Case- Clutch Reservoir, suspension and Steering System, Tire Pressure, Inspect and Measure Tread Depth, Inspect front Brakes, ann Inspect Rear Brakes.
The car passed all of the above criteria. The tires are fairly new, and measure in at 11/32nd. They are not the OE equipment tire, so they exibit more noise than usual. The brake pads measured at 5 mm on the front, and 7mm on the rear.
Other items: Whne I drove the car I noticed bot the door panels could used some repaires to the door handles (they are loose.) While they are functional, it may be something that you might fix.
The Soft top is in excellent condition. The rear window is slightly discolored, and there are some common wear point (two) that are on the soft top. It will not produce a leak, and it does not appear to be something that will tear... but the visual imperfestions are there.
A Note about Keywords: I do not particualarly care for sellers who place every make and model known to man in the keyword search. Usually... when you look for a part, or car... you end up seeing all 200 or so listings that have no relavance to the car or part you are looking for. I do belive, however, that people who are looking for simular cars, W116 W126 126 W123 123 300SD 300SDL and perhaps even a 350SDL 420SE 420SEL 300sl sl380 sl500 sl320 600sl sl600 or any other older mercedes ( W140 or 129 140 chassis might even be a candidate here!) would be interetsed in a super low mileage near collectible car such as this one.

Bidder's Age: You must be 18 years of age or older to bid.
Bid Retraction: Please read eBay's "Retracting a Bid". If you place a bid before the last 12-hour period of the auction, you may retract the bid before the last 12-hour period only for exceptional circumstances. You will not be allowed to retract that bid during the last 12-hour period of the auction. If you place a bid during the last 12-hour period of the auction, you will be allowed to retract the bid for exceptional circumstances only if you do so within one hour after placing the bid.

Buyer's Inspection: We do our best to disclose all information known about this vehicle for auction. We welcome a Buyer's Inspection. If you plan to have a Buyer's Inspection, please make sure you have the vehicle inspected prior to the end of the auction. Inspection fees, if any, are the "Buyer's" sole responsibility.
Warranties: Unless stated otherwise, this vehicle is being sold "as is". Manufacturer's warranties may still apply. An extended warranty may also be available. Please contact us for details. No representations or warranties are made by the "Seller", nor are any representations or warranties relied upon by "Bidders" in making bids.
Payments: A deposit of $1,000.00 by Personal check (once cleared), Cash (in person) (non-refundable) must be paid within 24 Hours of the close of the Auction. When the deposit has been submitted, "Buyer" MUST fax a copy of their valid, state-issued driver's license and proof of insurance. The remaining balance must be paid within 3 Days. If payment is made by cashier's or personal check, we will hold all titles for 10 days or until funds have cleared.
Title Information: In genral, we have the title in our possesion. From time to time vehicle titles may be held by banks or lenders as collateral for loans. In many cases there is a delay in receiving the original instruments of up to 21 days from the time we pay a vehicle off. While we usually have all titles in our possession at closing, there are occasions where we may be waiting for them to arrive.
Finalizing Your Purchase: Winning bidder MUST communicate with us by e-mail or phone within 24 hours of the end of the auction to make arrangements to complete the transaction. If we cannot confirm your intention to buy or the sale is not completed within 3 days, we reserve the right to re-list this vehicle or sell to any other qualified buyer. Before the vehicle is released for shipment to the "Buyer", all sale-related and title-related paperwork must be signed and returned completed to the "Seller".
Shipping and Delivery: Unless outherwise stated in the Description section of this listing, all shipping charges are the "Buyer's" responsibility. We will help with shipping arrangements but will not be responsible in any way for claims arising from shipping damage! Licensed "Carriers" are generally insured for $3,000,000.00. We assume no responsibility for damages incurred after the vehicle leaves our showroom. All shipping arrangements provided by us are strictly a courtesy. We are not affiliated with any carrier. Any claims or other communication regarding shipment of vehicles will be between you and the "Carrier" and not with us. The amount of time it takes for delivery depends upon the "Carrier" selected. A typical experience is 7-14 days from the date the vehicle is picked up from our facility until it is delivered to your destination. Verify with the "Carrier" for an Estimated Time of Arrival to be sure.
Fee and Tax Information: "Buyer" is responsible not only for knowing their own states' laws regarding taxes and fees, but also remitting the proper taxes, fees, and documents for their state. All taxes and fees must be paid in full in order for the vehicle to be titled and registered.
Dealer Documentation Fee: Dealer will charge a Dealer Documenation fee of $55.00. There may be fees charges in your jurisdiction or province in addition to the fees we charge. We may charge a smog fee of $35.00, and a California Tire fee of $8.75.
