Vehicle Detail
Please read the entire auction before you bid! Up for auction is my beautifully restored / renovated 1973 BMW R75/5 Cafe. It will come with a clean, clear Utah State title. It is a very clean example and this bike will not disappoint. The odometer still shows the original miles, but there are approximately 200 miles on it since all work was done. I know I will not remember or cover everything you may want to know so please ask any questions before bidding. It was completely taken down to the frame. The frame has been sand blasted and powder coated black as well as the swing arm, center stand, rear shock springs, headlight brackets and bucket. The engine has not been rebuilt but runs great and has no problems. It was soda blasted when it was removed from the bike and is spotless, really a beautiful piece. The carburetors have been replaced with Mikuni Flat Slide units with pod filters. It also has the oil cooler that mounts between the case and the pan. The engine number is 2987599 and matches the frame number. The exhaust system is a two into one ( 2 into 1) unit and has been rechromed. Tires are both Metzeler and have approximately 200 miles on them. The aluminum rims are polished. The tail section and front fender are aftermarket units in the cafe style and the seat cover is new as well as the foam. All lights, horn, electricals work with no problems. It has been painted Tri-Stage Candy Apple Red and looks incredible. I took some photos outside so you can really see it in the sun, and they still do not do it justice. The side covers are from a R90S, they looked more Cafe than the standard covers. The speedo was removed and sent to Palo Alto Speedometers to be rebuilt and the face done in red to match the bike. The rear shocks were replaced with Italian Marzocchi Gas units and painted in Candy to match the rest of the bike. Replaced the bars with a flat bar and end mirrors. As you can see from the photos it is a very nice job and as I said you will not be disappointed, it will bring the new owner many years of trouble free, happy motoring, with plenty of conversation from passers by. The only thing I can think off that may need to be looked at is the chrome tank covers do have some light wrinkles in them that I could not get to show up in the photos. They are nothing serious, but are there none the less. It does come with a clean, clear Utah State title. I have done my best to describe this bike as accurately as possible. Like I said, I am sure I have not covered every question out there so please ask any questions you may have and I will answer them quickly and post them to the auction if they are relevant. I will also take any more photos that may be needed. I can't say enough how beautiful it really looks and how happy anyone out there would be to ride it around and show off to their family, friends and lucky onlookers. Good luck to all bidders, you will be getting a truly unique machine that there are getting to be fewer and fewer of as each year passes. This will not be losing any value in the years to come and will only be going up. It can, of course, be picked up at no charge or shipped via Forward Air to the lower 48 states. It will be crated and taken to my local terminal and be delivered to the closest terminal to you where you will have to pick it up. You can find the closest terminal at their web site which is www.forwardair.com. Shipping to the US will be an additional $350.00 over your winning bid amount and will include a crate and our delivery to the Forward Air terminal near us. Any International bidders who may be interested please contact me and I will do my best to help in any way I can. *If you are a Utah resident I have to charge Sales Tax, whether you pick-up or I ship it. Thanks PLEASE NOTE: We are closed on Saturday and Sunday. If an invoice is for any auctions that end on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, we will send those out first thing the following Monday morning.
