1984 Honda VF750F V45 Interceptor Motorcycle ***Original survivor***Clean***Ready to Ride*** No Reserve!!! !!!!!!Great Shape!!!!!!Low Mileage!!! Delivery Available General: Up for auction is a clean, low mileage 1984 Honda VF750F V45 Interceptor motorcycle, in its original Candy Burgoyne Red and Pearl White paint scheme. If you are looking for an unmolested, first generation 750 Interceptor, I don't think you will find too many out there that are much better or more original, particularly at the NO RESERVE starting bid price it is being offered at. This motorcycle has obviously been well maintained and cared for throughout its life. It is equipped with Honda's ground-breaking, liquid cooled V-four engine and smooth shifting five speed, close-ratio transmission. As you can see from the pictures, it looks great, and best of all, it is ready to ride. This bike would be right at home in any collector's garage or would make any rider a great and unique vintage ride. Mechanical Condition: If you are looking at this listing, you probably know what a landmark bike this model was: it is arguably one of the best handling sportbikes of the mid '80's, yet it maintained a rider comfort level that allowed it to be used for sport touring and commuting. This motorcycle is in very good mechanical condition, and needs nothing but a new rider and a good home. It starts easily and pulls with authority throughout the rpm range. The clutch engages smoothly and the transmission shifts easily. All of the suspension components work well, as do the front and rear brakes. The tires are in good shape and seem to have more than half their wear left. All of the lights and controls work as they should. There are no leaks apparent anywhere and the engine does not smoke at all or use oil. It is ready to roll! It has freshly cleaned carburetors, new fork seals and fresh oil and filter. I try to ride every motorcycle I sell at least 50 miles. I do this so that I know exactly what kind of a motorcycle I am selling, and what on the motorcycle needs to be repaired, replaced or adjusted. I recently put about 75, very enjoyable test miles on this bike. This was enough time in the saddle to convince me that the bike is in very good mechanical shape; it has obviously been well cared-for throughout its lifetime. Everything felt very much as I remember these models from the showroom. The V-four is a joy; smooth and incredibly torquey for a 750cc bike of this vintage. There are no weaves or wobbles. The bike accelerates to autobahn speeds smoothly, and back to a stop without any drama. Very Nice. The mechanical bottom line is that this is a very solid motorcycle. It would serve as a great commuter bike, or a weekend pleasure bike, and is ready to take you on a longer distance ride, if that is your desire. Or, if you are a vintage Honda collector, this bike will look right at home with the rest of your collection. Cosmetic condition: As you can see in the pictures, the bike looks great! The paint is in good condition for a bike of this vintage. The red areas on the tank and portions of the tailpiece have been repainted, but look great. The lock cylinder which secures the seat latch is missing. However the seat latch can be released through the lock cylinder hole. See attached photo. There is what looks to be a small air bubble in the striping on the top of the tailpiece, near the seat lock hole; see photo. The rear turn signals are a little "droopy", and would cosmetically benefit from a new pair of turn signal stems. However they are completely functional as is. The "black chrome" on the original mufflers is in good shape, However, there are some areas of dullness and a few scrapes and scratches; see the attached photos. There is loose baffle on the inside of the left muffler that sometimes buzzes when the muffler is cold. This seems to go away as the engine warms. There is also some light oxidation on some of the aluminum surfaces. The original seat cover has some age separation on the front right area and another very small one in the rear right edge; see attached photos. Modifications: With the exception of the previously noted paint work, the bike appears to me completely original in form.
