Vehicle Detail
This is a very nice 1988 Ford MUSTANG 5.0 LX convertible. I am the original owner and retain clear Ohio Certificate of Title. My wife and I ordered this car in December of 1987 while I was employed at RS Ford in Loveland, Ohio and the car was delivered to the dealership in May of 1988. Current odometer reading is actual/documented 81,737 miles and they are a good mix of cruising and interstate travel. I have a portfolio of documentation including maintenence receipts, original window sticker, all the various owners manuals and the original warranty card/plate. I see the Car Fax is showing an emissions check in 2000 at 177,000 miles! This is completely inaccurate and I never caught the mistake at that time. It should have read 77,000 miles. Equipment/options include the Convertible Package, 302 High Output 5.0 V8, Air Conditioning, Power Windows, 5-speed Transmission, Continental P225/60R-15 High-Performance 4000H-Directional Tires, Tilt Wheel, AM/FM Cassette Premium Sound Stereo System and Power Locks. This was always a "fun car" and only driven in nice weather--usually with the top down. It was/is ALWAYS garaged. Maintenence has included regular oil and filter changes, tires, batteries, belt, hoses and last summer, new performance exhaust. Brakes are still original and function perfectly--a testament to the fact that this car has been driven easy and obviously well cared for. I did get bumped at a traffic light one evening in 1993 so I filed a police report even though the bumper was just marred--it polished out just fine. This car has never been dented and is truely rust-free. It also has the original convertible top dust cover bag stored in the trunk. The convertible top itself was replaced with a correct original-material unit about six years ago. The A/C probably need a charge to blow cold as the compressor cycles fine. The horn and tempature gauge stopped working recently. All the other instruments and everything else work well. When the car was new, I was not pleased with the factory paint. I was able to get the car repainted with PPG Urathane basecoat/clearcoat in the correct/original code 2-D Scarlet Red. Ford was not yet using this advanced two-stage paint system in the Dearborn plant when this car was built so I am glad I had this done as the car still looks awesome. I also had the car Ziebarted (very high quality rustproofing) when it was less than a week old. I am posting a lot of pictures but if you need more info, just click on "ask seller a question". I am selling this car because we have two other convertibles in our family. This is a very nice factory-stock/original car with full history and documentation. Runs, shifts and drives excellent. Sounds very nice with a mature, restrained rumble. I've had it since new (22 years) and I am ready for something different--perhaps a 1956 Ford like my Mom and Dads first car. Deposit of $200 required within 48 hours of auction end via PayPal. Payment balance should be cash on pickup within seven days of auction end. I can possibly hold/store the car a little longer but car needs to paid in full within the seven day window via cash, postal money order or bank cashiers check. The car is located at my home at 3703 Bass Road, Williamsburg, Ohio 45176---just east of Cincinnati. Thank you for looking, and hopefully, bidding on this nice convertible Mustang. There is no reserve so somebody will win this car. Thank you, Ric
