Vehicle Detail
Talk about unique! Check this machine out! Original 1972 Corvette with a Greenwood conversion done sometime in the late 70s, we think. The current owner is not the original owner, but has owned the car for about 20 years. The car is mechanically sound with the original 350 engine and tranny. The car had factory air, but the compressor and most of the parts for the AC are long gone. It didn't have it when the curr4ent owner bought the car, and he's never had a need of it. The plumbing and controls are still there. Original 350 which was rebuilt and mildly modified in the mid 80's (see the attached pics of the engine paperwork) at a cost of several thousand dollars. Does not smoke or burn oil at all whatsoever, and has a very nice rumble to it. Nothing extreme at all, just a good muscular sound. Original tranny that shifts smoothly and does not leak. Original power brakes Original beefy sway bar All original interior, except for the center console, which we're pretty sure is out of either a 1971 or 1972 ZR-1. It has the indicator lights in it that did NOT come out in the 73s, and the plate on that console IS FROM A ZR-1, but this Vette is NOT AN ORIGINAL ZR-1! Please don't email me and give me grief about this point. I tried to take a good pic of the plate, but it may not be distingiushable as a ZR-1 plate. I have had a good friend who is a Corvette fanatic look at this car, and HE is the one that told me to make this point about the plate. Please don't argue with me that I'm being misleading about this 'being a ZR1'. I'm not!! THIS IS A GREENWOOD VETTE, NOT A ZR-1!!! Side mirrors are from a '78 (we think). That's one of the reasons we think the conversion was done sometime around that point. The drivers side mirror has been broken off at some point and epoxied back together. All original glass, including the rear window which has NEVER been taken out. Tops are original fiberglass, but at some point, have been cut and glass installed (see the pic). These DO NOT LEAK. Paint is in decent shape, but looks better in pics that it actually is, to be perfectly honest. It has it's share of scrapes and fading, but will come back very nicely with some TLC. Tires are in very good shape. Most of the gauges work. The ?? gauge does not. The clock DOES work. The original stereo died, and when the owner took it to a local stereo shop, they added the tray under the passenger side of the dash for the CD player you see. Not the wisest of choices in my mind, but I'm quite certain it could be reworked by a good stereo shop. I am an honest seller. check my feedback. I expect honest bidders. Listing fees are not cheap, and I don't want to waste my time and money with people that don't have the funds or intention of paying. I will do everything I can to facilitate the deal, but I will not hesitate to file a non-paying bidder complaint and leave VERY negative feedback. PAYMENT: Paypal is NOT AN OPTION! The funds are simply too high on this kind of dollar amount. Cleared funds MUST BE IN HAND before the care leaves our hands. This means that if you want to send a certified check, it will have to sit in my bank account for 7-10 business days before it clears, and before you can pickup the car or have it shipped. Wire transfers will be accepted, and those are immediate. The cost is something like $18, I think. Or cash on pickup is fine. SHIPPING: I have shipped a ton of motorcycles and atvs, but never a car. I know there are several shipping companies preferred by eBay, including DAS, but I have no idea what costs will be. I would think something around $1500-2000 to the West Coast. I do have a local shipper I work with that can deliver around the Southeast/Midwest. FEEDBACK: I wholeheartedly belive in eBay's feedback system. If there is any reason whatsoever that you can't give me 5 stars in every category, PLEASE give me the opportunity to work it out. Remember that 4 stars is not sufficient, according to eBay, so I strive to be 5-star-worthy. I think that's it. Please keep in mind that I have described this car as well as possible, but it IS used, and no warranty is given or implied. Please look closely at the pics and ask any questions. Just please don't wait until the last day of the auction, as I will NOT be able to answer you in time, and you may miss the chance to bid.
