One final time at a lower price. You WILL NOT find a nicer 356 ANYWHERE. Why it hasn't sold is way beyond me. Don't miss out on this fabulous. I believe, at auction, this car would sell for $65,000 or more and as the economy turns around who knows where it will be in two years. One thing that impressed me was the solid sound when closing the doors and the tight sound of the engine. I am including a picture of the Letter of Authinticity as well as the door tags. ALL NUMBERS MATCH. BELOW ARE STATEMENTS FROM THE OWNER The Porsche 356 C. Correct Signal Red paint. Black interior (all leather and proper German, square weave carpet; interior is 100% new fabrics, etc.) This was a Texas car, I brought it back to CA. Originally purchased in Texas by a Military Officer. Did not drive much due to service abroad. The guy did keep amazing, detailed records and I have original receipts, all catalogued and organized going back to 1965. I have the Certificate of Authenticity from the Porsche Factory as well. I have every receipt going back to 1965 for this car. The car later found its way to a collector who showed it occasionally. Later, it was purchased by an attorney who drove it to local Porsche 356 Club events, then sold it to me. In terms of the mileage, the best estimate I can say is that it likely has 105,000 original miles I purchased the car in 1999. I performed a complete restoration, including: 1. Completely rebuilt Engine with the best Pistons available 2. Rebuilt Carbs 3. New Exhaust 4. Complete repaint (Over $7,000 alone). Very clean paint. No dings. 5. Rebuild brakes 6. Rebuild axles 7. Rebuild suspension 8. Completely new (correct) full leather interior, door panels headliner, proper German Square weave carpet 9. Extra sound insulation applied to all floorboard and engine wall surfaces. 10. Door window mechanisms/rollers rebuilt 11. New rubber throughout all windows and gaskets 12. Interior leather headrests 13. Four Porsche seatbelts 14. Luggage rack with straps 15. Chromed wire headlight protectors 16. New battery 17. New/Rebuilt Alternator and New Voltage Regulator 18. All rust was totally removed, the slightest rust of any kind was removed. I cannot say what has happened in the 10 years I have owned it, but I think it is very, very clean. Never in the rain, never to a car wash, etc. What I know that does not work perfectly: 1. The foot pump that will spray water onto the windshield is not operable 2. The hood latch is a bit tricky 3. Everything else, as far as I know, is 100% operable and in perfect or near perfect condition. 4. 6 VOLT SYSTEM, ENTIRELY REBUILT What I can say, for sure, is that this car was completely rebuilt, almost from scratch and the engine was TOTALLY rebuilt at a cost of about $8,000, and there is less than about 3,000 miles on the total rebuild. The seats were 100% totally rebuilt, and I was there for 100% of the job. I literally took off a week from work and stayed there in the shop when they installed 100% new carpet, 100% new leather on the seats and dash and door panels and put in a new headliner. One cool thing we did was to add an additional layer of insulation between the floorboards and the carpet and mats throughout. So this car is a bit more quiet than others. I don't want to oversell the condition, but one would be hard pressed to find a unit in such great shape.
