Vehicle Detail

1996 FORD BRONCO 4X4 - EDDIE BAUER XL / XLTExceptionally nice unmolested and meticulously maintained 5th (and final) generation (92-96) Eddie Bauer Edition Ford Bronco XL/XLT. It's very rare because on their scale from 35 to 57 the Experian AutoCheck Vehicle History Report rates it a 57. ONLY ONE OWNER. Always garaged. From Tucson, Arizona so there's no rust. The paint and interior are original and in remarkable shape. Highly desirable engine/transmission drive train combination mates the classic 351 Windsor V8 (5.8L) to the heavy duty E4OD automatic transmission with overdrive. Runs and drives superbly with no rattles, no leaks, and no mechanical issues. Everything works as it should, with hot heat and cold AC. Power everything, including LED gauges, power windows, locks, mirrors and seats. Features 4 new radial All Terrain tires on factory chrome rims. Recently upgraded to Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings for a better ride plus new brakes on all 4 corners, newer shocks, ball joints, steering dampener and tie rod ends. The fluids have always been changed religiously to schedule. The vast majority of the mileage was accrued on the highway as a retiree driving from Arizona to Minnesota before the heat of summer and back to Arizona before the cold of winter. As a long time Bronco owner and afficianado with one of the largest Bronco collections in the southwest I can tell you the time to buy a top rated one owner Bronco is when you see it. They don't make them like this anymore and it won't be available for long. 351 WINDSOR (5.8L) MULTI PORT FUEL INJECTED V8The 351 Windsor is widely considered as Ford's most reliable and smoothest V8 gasoline engine. Starts every time with a turn of the key. No smoke, no knocks, no leaks, no issues. Runs so smooth and quiet you can't tell it's running at a stop light. Aluminum radiator keeps the coolant cool. The oil pressure is strong and reads exactly the same PSI on the gauge as the day it was bought from the dealer. Just note that the picture of the pristine gray driver side valve cover is from an engine that has never ever been steam cleaned in 23 years! E4OD AUTOMATIC OVERDRIVE TRANSMISSIONThe E4OD is the heaviest duty transmission ever put in a Bronco and is rated for much bigger, heavier and more powerful trucks. That's why it was equipped in F250's and F350's with big diesel engines. It's reliability is legendary because it's basically an electronically actuated C6 with an overdrive. In the documentary about the history of the "Big Foot Ford Monster Truck" the builders explain how the only automatic transmission they could get to turn those massive wheels with that big HP engine consistently without breaking was the C6. To this day the C6 is what Big Foot runs. This E4OD has never leaked a drop as you can see in the pic of the original paint on the oil pan. It shifts smooth and concise as designed. The fluid and filter was always changed every 24 months. NEW PROCESS 208 TRANSFER CASEThe factory NP208 2 speed transfer case was so robust it was also fitted in the F250 & F350. It has a 2.26 to 1 gear ratio when engaged in Low Range. It features a strong but light aluminum housing and is driven by a big 5 inch wide chain. It uses red ATF transmission oil instead of gear oil which reduces drag for improved fuel economy. The factory Ford manual lockout hubs engage normally and the 4x4 works as designed. INTERIORThis is a non-smoking vehicle. The inside is amazingly clean for being 23 years old. All the lights and signals and gauges work as designed. Other trim features include an overhead console for storage, lighted sun visors, and a dimming rear view mirror. The dash has an aftermarket carpet protector so there's no cracking on the original vinyl underneath. The factory carpets aren't torn or stained. The headliner is spotless. The plush seats feature fold down arm rests. They aren't ripped or punctured or stained although there is the start of a small separation in the fabric on the driver's seat. The passenger seat fold down arm rest had some fabric issues so it was fitted with a cover. The rear seat has only been sat in a few times so it's like new. It's ingeniously designed because it has a quick release mechanism so you can quickly remove it. The rear cargo area looks almost good as new as it was barely ever used. The factory manuals pictured are in the thick factory plastic bag with the Ford logo along with the factory wheel lock key in the glove box. EXTERIORTucson is where the U.S. Air Force mothballs all their old aircraft because there is no corrosion due to lack of humidity. Just Google "Tucson Air Force Bone Yard" for some amazing pics. This Bronco's sheetmetal is laser straight because the truck has never been wrecked and the factory paint still looks amazing. There are of course 23 years worth of tiny stone chips that are hard to detect in pictures but you can see some of the white base where paint's chipped off on the fiberglass steps, and from 2 feet away you can see some minor hairline cracking in the step paint. Of course there's no bondo or filler being original paint. When the truck was just 11 weeks old it did receive a dent in the right front fender ironically in the same parking lot of the dealership it was bought from while getting its 1st break-in oil change. It was immediately replaced by that dealer who re-sprayed the new OEM fender with Ford paint to the factory color code. There's some normal sun fading on the roof of the fiberglass top but you'd need a step ladder to really notice it. The only significant paint loss is a small triangular area on the lower driver's front fender next to the door where the paint has chipped off down to the metal exposing a thin patina of surface rust. 2 smaller but similar chips with patina are hidden behind the spare tire on the top edge of the tailgate where it meets the glass. The original factory glass is in great shape with no cracks but there are 2 tiny stone chips in the windshield that are so far from the driver's field of vision they're barely noticed and are still repairable. This rare Bronco model came from the factory with a vented front bumper and a Class III receiver hitch under the heavy duty rear step bumper. It also features the optional swing away rear spare tire carrier. Lastly the fiberglass top is still removable making this truck a true convertible although this one's never been off because Ford discouraged it by changing the bolts to torx head and added a 3rd brake light that has to be unplugged before removal. PAYMENT TERMS:Direct bank to bank wire transfer or cash for bulk of sale preferred to avoid fees above the typical $25 wire fee. A $1000 PayPal deposit due within 24 hrs. of auction close. Full amount due within 72 hrs. of auction close by either bank to bank wire transfer or overnight letter cashiers check or cash. Credit or debit cards are also accepted for the deposit or the balance as we can email you a Square.com invoice but note that a 2.5% fee will be added to everything but the 1st $1000 deposit. SHIPPING:All shipping arrangements are of course the reponsibility of the buyer. Note also that its always cheaper and safer to ship than to try and find cheap airfare to Tucson on short notice, plus you won't have legal plates for the drive back. We'll gladly help shipping agent load vehicle as much as possible and we know lots of shippers that we've met over the years. We'll store vehicle outdoors free of charge up to 3 weeks after auction close. After 21 days a $15 per day storage fee is charged unless other arrangements are pre-dickered. I've been doing this for 19 years on eBay so just know this, I'm a man of my word and my reputation is worth far more than any money you could possibly pay for some truck. I'm a long time part of a nationwide Bronco network and can email you references of Bronco experts that you can call if desired. For any questions Email through eBay or call 52O-9 Seven Seven-O112. I don't use email on my phone so texts are also answered so long as you start with 96 Bronco as a reference. I've recently sold many other trucks on eBay, including Broncos linked below. One of the Classic Early Broncos I rescued back in 1998 and owned for 2 decades was a 1 off 1969 Holmann-Moody-Stroppe "Bronco Hunter" that was recently restored and sold at auction for $121,000. The story of it is linked below: https://www.hagerty.com/articles-videos/articles/2018/08/27/the-unsolved-history-of-the-bronco-hunter-by-holman-moody-stroppe OTHER TRUCKS I'VE RECENTLY SOLD (Just copy and paste links into your URL line) 1983 Ford Broncohttps://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-ford-bronco-6-lift-33-tires-15x10-street-locks-rock-crawler/322478169539?hash=item4b15325dc3 1968 Ford Bronco http://www.ebay.com/itm/371654293442?forcerRptr=true&item=371654293442&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:L:EOISSA:MOTORS:1123 Another 1983 Ford Bronco:https://www.ebay.com/itm/323153855338?ssPageName=STRK:MESOX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1559.l2649 1983 Toyota FJ60 Land Cruiserhttps://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-Toyota-FJ60-LAND-CRUISER-4X4-SURVIVOR-STRAIGHT-AXLE-SUV-/372376617195 1985 Toyota Hilux:https://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Toyota-SR5-Hilux-4x4-Straight-Axle-Rock-Crawler-/323564231636 1993 4Runner with custom drivetrain:http://www.ebay.com/itm/1993-Toyota-4Runner-SR5-/371823786832?hash=item56926cbb50:g:7Q8AAOSwZQRYXg-a&vxp=mtr 1983 Toyota Hilux:http://www.ebay.com/itm/371903777977?ul_noapp=true 1987 Jeep Wrangler:https://www.ebay.com/itm/1987-Jeep-Wrangler-YJ/323449910410?hash=item4b4f1df48a:g:1MA 1987 4Runner:https://www.ebay.com/itm/323314160892 Another 1987 4Runner:https://www.ebay.com/itm/372404753189?ul_noapp=true 1983 Toyota Hilux 4x4:http://www.ebay.com/itm/371903777977?ul_noapp=true Similar Broncos that sold on Ebay for comparison.
