great running bike, fires up and rides fine. I rode it last weekend.I am only selling it because I have 3 Douglas's, and could use the room.biggest issue it has is the wiring, post war british wiring insulation just seems to crumble from age (had this happen on other brit bikes from the era) wiring harness is available from the UK, as are most other parts. torsion suspension front & rear. (rear frame looks to have had an extra plate braised on, Im told this was a weak point in the frame for these models) the muffler is cast aluminum, and is under the motor. during WW2 these motors were used in military generators, and when they went back to building bikes, I guess they wanted to use up what they had left in stock.Im not sure if it is original paint, but its really old paint. usually starts 1st kick, and runs quiet & smooth. no smoke or funny noises.has some rust, but mostly its on the handlebars & some of the chrome bits.magneto works good, but as it needs a new wiring harness, I'm not sure on the rest of the electrics. numbers on frame and engine match, I'm told this is pretty rare. clear title in my name.I'm in SE Alabama, and you are welcome to come check it out in person.
