1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, born in Van Nuys, Calif with a 301ci 4-barrel automatic. This car has pretty much lived all of it's road life between Calif and Texas. This is a nice solid body and frame structure, no rust in trunk or floors, a great driver as it is, or an excellent foundation to make show quality. Drivetrain 400ci Pontiac, block code is X4, it is a 1973 400 block, approx 3,500 on complete rebuild. Bored 030, nodular crank 010 under, Arp rod bolts, block decked, 6x heads completely rebuilt & milled for increased compression. Comp Cams extreme energy 272 cam, Comp Cams valvetrain & timing components except Harland Sharp 1.5 roller rockers arms. Edelbrock Performer intake, Holley 750 vac secondary carb. All complementary parts, distributer, fuel pump, balancer, alternator, etc have been replaced. New fuel tank, ceramic headers, complete flowmaster exhaust system. 4-core radiator with separate B&M tranny cooler. 200-4R automatic overdrive transmission with 2200 stall converter built by PRO Street Transmissions, B&M automatic 4 speed shifter. GM 10 bolt possi disc brake rear end, had 3:42 gears installed, speedometer is approx. 10 miles off at 70mph, easy fix for new owner. SuspensionHotchkis front coil springs, Pro Touring rear leaf springs, KYB gas adjust shocks, all bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, links etc have been replaced. Has sub frame connectors, OEM 15x8 WS6 Snow Flake wheels with NEW 255-60-15 BFGoodrich TA radials. InteriorComplete interior kit, seat covers, carpet(solid floors), headliner, rear deck etc. New Kenwood CD stereo, Pioneer rear deck speakers. BodyLess than year old Hot Rod Black paint job, new front windshield. Does have some hail dings on roof, one or two on deck lid, nice VFN fiberglass cowl hood. This is a nice solid body would need the typical body work for a nice gloss show car finish. This car is not perfect, but it is a nice 40 year old car you can drive & enjoy as is (runs strong and sounds GREAT!!) or take its solid foundation and customize it to your dreams.
