You either love it or hate it. We think controversy makes great art and Aston designer William Townsend's Lagonda is one of the great designs on the 1970s. The early 1970s were tough times for Aston Martin. They were building quality cars but they didn't have anything inspiring on their plate. They needed a hit and they were willing... to go out of their comfort zone to get one. Some believe the Lagonda took them out of their comfort zone and into the twilight zone. Only 645 Aston Martin Lagondas were built. A large number of Lagondas half went to the Middle-East. They were intended to be everyday cars with room in the back for groceries or the kids. Many were used hard few survived in top condition. This Lagonda came from the collection of Daniel Woodnorth. Daniel was the son of Harry Woodnorth, a pioneer in the collector car business and a lover of Lagondas. Daniel chose the car for its excellent condition and kept to the same standard. Life issues and a nudge from a West Coast collector moved the car to California where it was again pampered. This car has only been driven 18,180 miles.
