This car was just purchased from it's long term owner in New York. It's current mileage is believed to be correct, as it only spent 12 years of it's life on the road. The car was taken off the road in 1979 for some sheetmetal repairs underneath, but was never put back into use, being stored in a barn until recently. The car appears very original and pretty complete, as having never been largely apart. The body on this car is average overall for a restoration project. There's no evidence of any accidents. The car was taken off the road back in the 70's for the rockers and floors to be replaced, which was done to a very amateur level. Today the body could use a total and proper rebuild as part of it's ground-up restoration. This includes main floors, rockers, rear wheelarchs, boot floor, bonnet lower underpanel, bottoms of doors,etc. The bonnet looks pretty decent overall with good shape to it.The car still retains it's original matching numbers engine that looks like it's never been out of the car, but would probably need rebuilding for this level of restoration. The engine bay looks very complete and pretty untouched and original, with lots of original hose clamps and other rare fittings. The car's interior trim looks pretty complete and original. The door panels and horn push are missing but everything else looks to be there for restoration. The car retains most all of it's original glass and chromework. This car appears to have the rare rear window defrost option...The car's underside shows all of the older attempted repairs. The subframe set looks pretty straight and solid overall. We had no structural issues putting this car up on a lift. It should make a very nice restoration project once all of the sheetmetal has been repaired/renewed. Overall, a pretty complete and original, unmolested, desirable Series 1 Fixed Head Coupe with the original data plate, matching numbers, and believed original mileage.
