1988 Mazda 929. 147000 miles. 3 speed automatic with 2nd gear “hold” feature. This 80s luxury car has proudly taken me to work for the last 5 years. Hard to part with but I just don’t need it anymore. And it’s rear wheel drive so Winter driving long distance to work isn’t desirable anymore. It’s been very reliable. Changed the timing belt around 90k miles. New brake pads beginning of this year. New radiator last year. Have factory manual, manual emergency sunroof crank tool, factory center cap removing tool, factory jack and pads. This 3.0 V6 SOHC motor seems to be a very tough engine. Tires are just under fair shape. The windshield is damaged. Regular oil changes. I have ran this car everywhere besides work. Ac works, R134 converted. Great heat. Power windows and power sunroof. The windows are slow due to age and the drivers window could use a new ladder. But I just run the air anyway so never addressed it. Power steering pump started making noise last year so I just removed the belt. So no power steering but it hasn’t been an issue for drivability. Been driving it since last summer like that. Straight pipe exhaust. When the muffler finally rotted I just installed a pipe with a turn down. Struts replaced 4 years ago. Car is very clean. Only rust spot is underneath in the trunk where the spare tire sits. Hate to let it go but I bought a replacement front wheel drive work car a couple months ago. So it’s time.
