This model is the final variation of the Healey 3000 range of cars. It offered roll-up windows and a nice folding convertible top, 150bhp engine, center shift gearbox, power brakes, walnut dashboard, quiet exhaust system, raised suspension, and double parking lamps/turn signals. This car was just purchased from it’s long term owner from the dry state of New Mexico. It was in the process of a simple cosmetic re-do when we purchased it. The body and chassis on this car are quite exceptional, showing no real signs of any damage or rust in it’s bare metal or “nude” state (the car isn’t hiding anything in this state, and reveals it’s superb and honest bodywork!). There has been some minor repair to each of the rear fenders. The floors and under-chassis look completely solid and rust free, just as you would expect to find on a low mileage car from New Mexico… The delicate aluminum shrouds are beautiful, along with most all of the other body panels. The car was carefully stripped by hand in preparation for a perfect paintjob. The chrome-work, which is in very good to excellent condition and mostly original , has been lightly refitted to show the car’s completeness, and could be very well be easily cleaned/polished up and used again. The car still retains most of it’s original interior, although some of it has been removed. It should be re-trimmed. The dashboard and instruments look extremely good and could be simply detailed, which would save some work. The car still retains it’s original Triplex windshield glass in good shape. Included is a new wiring harness and new seat foam. The car’s engine starts easily on the key and the car drives very well. We will be posting a video of the car driving shortly. The engine bay looks highly original and would only require a minor detailing. The four 72-spoke chrome wire wheels fitted to the car should clean up nicely. There are additional items pictured that belong to the car. The car still retains all of it’s original ID tags, including chassis VIN, body tag, and engine number. Overall, a superb 3000 MK3 in the best color scheme for very simple cosmetic improvement. This super solid, honest, running and driving example from New Mexico exhibits a great and original body, already carefully hand-stripped to bare metal in preparation for perfect paint. This BJ-8 offered here must be one of the best MK3’s on the current market for easy improvement, and will be a fantastic looking car in the near future.
