I'm the third owner of this blue-on-blue 300D and it's been my daily driver since 2003. I recently acquired a low-mileage W124 and it's time to let this car go. Featuring the venerated OM617A turbocharged 5-cylinder engine, these cars are often referred to as "bulletproof". Not long after I acquired it I had the timing chain replaced as a prophylactic measure. You should be good for many more miles. I also had the speedometer rebuilt years ago and the odometer works properly. This 300D starts (new battery installed a year ago) and runs, drives and stops just fine. I wouldn't hesitate to go cross-country in it. But this not a showroom-condition car. It has rust in the usual places (I've tried to show those in the pictures) and the central locking system no longer works. It's also been quite some time since the AC blew cold. I fixed the cruise control when I bought it in 2003 but never used it since, so I have no idea if it works. The MB Tex interior is holding up well and it has an updated stereo with CD & Sirius Satellite Radio (requires activation) but I will include the original Becker radio and speakers. I'll also throw in a bunch of spare parts, everything from braided fuel lines to an instrument cluster to a whole new front grille, plus a bunch of odds & ends I no longer need. It all needs to go.
