This car was just purchased from the original owner who had trouble parting with his cherished British Roadster. This car was purchased brand new in Illinois on July 12th, 1957 and stayed with the first owner 61 years until last month !The body on this car appears quite straight and shows excellent panel fit. The slippery black paintwork is older, and upon close inspection shows some areas lifting that have been touched in, especially around the front shroud. The car appears accident-free with superb headlight and grille fit, with a perfect front cross-x panel. The car's interior shows an attractive and original red painted dashboard facia. Seats and carpets have been renewed at some point along the car's life, but the car's interior panel kit is original, along with the sidecurtain stowage bag and the grey spare tire cover. The engine compartment appears very original with evidence of the correct rebuilt 1500cc motor. The car's underside looks normal and fairly good for the age of the car. The car starts easily on the key and has all of the symptoms of a very healthy engine, with a great exhaust note. The gearbox, brakes, and clutch feel up to the mark, with very nice soft and smooth riding suspension on a nice set of cross-ply tires on good looking 48-spoke painted wire wheels. The car includes a host of extra and original items.
