Vehicle Detail

This 1990 Doge Omni has been in my family since new. Purchased by my grandparents to tow behind their RV, it toured for a couple seasons then was parked in the garage. I started using the car as a daily driver in 2008. A couple out-of-state moves later, I have a new daily so it's time for "Little Red" to go on to its next owner. The good:Starts and runs great! Fires up easily and runs smooth. Does not burn oil. Shifts perfectly.Interior is in very good condition. The velour on the seats is in great shape and is not faded. No rips or tears.Economical; it easily gets 25+ MPG in the city. All lights, switches, and gauges work (except odometer -- see below).Original equipment. Nothing modified, save normal replacement items, which were replaced with stock parts. The not-so-good:Paint has sun spots on the hood, roof, and tailgate. See photos.Air conditioning has a leak. All the parts are there, just needs the leak fixed and recharged. The radiator has a leak. The car is driveable as-is; I drove it daily for months just adding water every week. When the water is low it runs hot, but it doesn't overheat.Needs front tires; rears have lots of life left.Odometer broken at 55k miles. I've driven it a few years since it broke. True miles unknown, but I'd guess around 100k.Rust beginning to show on the rockers and around the lower edges of the quarter panels.Headliner is coming down. While it does need some work, it's entirely driveable as-is. In fact, I'll drive it to your door if you live within 100 miles of my place. (I'd be willing to drive it across the country if I had the time off.) If I keep the car, I'll get front tires and an alignment and drive it for another 100k. Alternately... find some GLH parts and turn it into a sleeper. ;) Unexpectedly, this car gets compliments everywhere it goes. People stop me in the parking lot to tell me about the Omni they had "back in the day". Perfect strangers have told me of their adventures in their Omni -- for many it was their first car or what they drove in college. Buy this car and drive it around town just to see who stops you and shares their memories. This is not a show car -- it's a driver. Omni's are not valuable enough to restore, but this one is too good to send to a junk yard. If you'd like additional photos, tell me what you want to see and I'll send you a pic. Cash only, please. No checks. Any questions -- just ask!
