This is a relist in eBay Motors for the 1997 Jaguar XK8 Convertible. The car was sold, and then the buyer backed out. This process is a PITA. My wife and I have 3 Jaguars and a Chevy Truck. We also have a two-car garage. I'll never part with my truck. It gets to stay outside because it's too big for my garage. One Jaguar is Baby Blue and my wife loves it. It get the left garage space. Another is an XKR with a Supercharger. That's my favorite. Right now it's parked outside. So the third one, named Black Beauty is parked inside in the right garage space. Three Jaguars, two car garage. Black Beauty has to go --- boo hoo. Auto Check Vehicle History report is green, green, green, green. This is a 4-owner car. Each prior owner wanted to keep it forever. It looks and drives like a showroom new car. Well, the drive portion is true. Starts right up and drives like a dream, especially with the top down. You can let go of the steering wheel and it will stay straight for at least a half a mile. It's 20 years old, and has a few minor dings (dents) that could be popped out with a suction cap, if you're so inclined. Study the photos. There is a slight rip in the driver's seat (back) - look at the photos. There is a slight crack in the front bumper, passenger side - look at the photos. Two prior buyers backed out of auction after reaching the reserve price. First one said he made a mistake entering his bid, which was high bid for three days, blocking others from bidding. Second bidder completed the auction, then said that the car was posted as junk/salvage in California. The car never left Rhode Island. Auto Check verified that its car posting (Green-Green-Green-Green) was correct, and that the secondary VIN checking service was incorrect. The California auction company named Copart has corrected its records, as explained in this written set of emails following. In summary, the car is clean and green, exactly as described by Auto Check. There are no undisclosed defects.The other VIN verification company refunded my payment because their data was in error.
