Offered for sale from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS is this very good MGA1600 Roadster. This car was just purchased from it's longtime Texas owner who had plans to finish the restoration but couldn't find the time. During his ownership, some improvements were made on the car. It currently awaits proper paintwork and some finishing touches. The car was running when put into storage a few years back. The body on the car is in overall very decent condition. It appears very solid with it's original rocker panels. Panel fit is variable as the fenders have been loosened up and the rubber insert piping removed in preparation for paint. The trunk floor is excellent and solid. The rear of the body along with a few other areas have a few repairable dents. The car will need just some general easy straightforward bodywork and paint. The bumpers and grille look fine and would benefit from some chrome cleaner. The interior trim on the car is in very good condition. At some point recently, new black carpets were fitted along with a red leather armrest and seat kit. The dashboard is painted the correct color for a white respray. The original sidescreen set is provided with a new red stowage bag , along with a newer black softtop that needs mounting up to the car with the frame. There is another red panel kit in a bag along with some new trim items including extra red leather and black carpet, grey fender piping kit, new black door seals, and some other sundry items. The car is fitted with it's correct 1600cc unit that was running well when parked, according to the previous owner/restorer. It turns fine now but the starter motor is a bit sluggish. The hydraulics are down and would need renewing. The fuel pump is working fine. The car is almost running again...Overall, a very good, tidy, solid, desirable MK1 1600 Roadster for straightforward paintwork and minor mechanical. These pretty cars offer reliable mechanicals, nice road manners, and a comfortable cockpit. A little bit of work would yield a very enjoyable and usable open MGA with good investment potential.
