Vehicle Detail

All original equipment. Restored in 1997. Original 260 engine, rebuilt with performance upgrades, it will pin your ears back & put a smile on your face. I am the 3rd. owner. I bought this car 4-26-1990 & it had 49,210 miles at that time it now has 57,300 miles. This car is a show winner at the car shows in my area. I have he provenance since 1978. I could go on & on about the car & it's upgrades, etc. I will be happy to discuss on the phone & in person. If you are serious about owning a piece of Shelby history & not just a tire kicker you may call me between 9:30 AM TO 11:00PM Pa. Time. I only want to talk with the principal buyer, please no agents. 9:30AM to 11:00 PM. Pa. time. The after market hardtop is good condition & has been hanging in my separate garage since 1990, I drove the car home from the shop with it in place, took it off & have not been back on since then. It has tags on it that read OYNAPLASTICS SO. EL MONTE, CALIF. it has a pebble like texture. The soft top Was folded back in place after restoration & has also not been used. The reason is I don't think either will clear the roll bar, never tried? The car came equipped with traction bars & pan hard rod, they are both original & firmly in place. The car has many newer parts, brake booster, I do have the original booster that went bad so I just bought a new one along with new master cylinder. I was going to have Tiger Tom rebuild the original booster but never did. I had everything re chromed except the SUNBEAM letters on front & trunk & the 260 emblem badge surround. I Had the best chrome job done & I must say the chrome is show quality, looks nicer than most others at the car shows. It was noit a body off restoration but I think well done. It was taken down to metal & there was one little rust spot, passenger side in front of rear wheel, about the size of a silver dollar, was cut out & replaced with metal. The paint is base coat, clear coat, with many coats of the good clear, it was all done in 1997 but still looks great with no signs of defects & has great shine. I have always used a small rotary buffer with sponge pads & 3M finesse to remove those minor spider webs, not scratches, you know what I mean. As I mentioned I have had a stroke & cannot do the little putsy work like I used to. When I drove it 180 miles a few days ago I noticed when you stand on the brakes hard it pulls to the left a little, not bad, probably just need bled out. I have both horns but only one installed & it sounds low, I can't get under to tighten the ground. When we put both horns on it kept blowing a fuse so I have only used one. The trunk has all the orig. jack, etc. even the original wood block to put under a tire when jacked up, I have never jacked it up. I was lucky to find a NOS trunk mat, it came still rolled in the orig. Rootes cardboard tube. I have two sets of Rootes keys, the doors, trunk & glove box all lock properly. I have the orig. intake & two barrel carb. that was rebuilt, I used that from 1990 to 1997. The car runs & drives as good as it looks, no squeaks or rattles, very firm & precise road feel & handles like a snake. If you buy this car & if for any reason it does not meet your expectations the sale will be cancelled. Money isn't that important, I want you to have smiles on your face too & be happy. Any questions, please call me. 724-583-8234,,,Bob Stevens On Jun-01-16 at 14:15:05 PDT, seller added the following information: I HAVE DECIDED TO LOWER THE RESERVE PRICE ON MY CAR. DONT GIVE UP, WE ARE ALMOST THERE. ANOTHER BID OR SO WILL PROBABLE TAKE IT OVER.
