Vehicle Detail

One of 5,049 1972 Formulas build for 1972I bought this car only last year and I find I just don't have the space for it, Not willing to spend $100 in storage fees every month to keep the car. This is a real 1972 formula 400 and has a turbo 400 transmission, The transmission is numbers matching. The motor is a period correct 400 Pontiac motor from another firebird. Sorry I don't know the motors year. The person I bought the car from went through the motor and sealed every thing up. The person had the transmission rebuild. He was so sure of the transmission he gave me a 500 mile warranty. Last month I was driving the car and the transmission did not respond to my commands. I drove the car home and after the car was out of 1st gear I had to rev up the RPMs in order for the car to kick into gear. I drove the car today and everything was OK I only went like 35 miles per hour. All I'm saying is if you buy this car you would need to have the transmission rebuilt. The underside of the car is solid new trans am sway bars front and rear, new magna flow duel exhaust, plus some other stuff that was done. I know it has a Camaro steering box the seller said it has a better turning radius. The power steering unit leaks and you will need a new one. All the belts are new, The dash is not cracked, The formula hood is after market I'm sure and looks brand new, The nose cone is nice, not perfect but nice, There are no back seats, also the car has an after market head liner in it. Has 4 point harness and Ricaro type seats they look like new. Has a decent radio. the lights are LED, There is a rust hole in the trunk, the seller said there is rust on the lower sections on the car, he sanded to bare metal then treated the metal so no further rusting would take place, then he did some bondo work. The body will need attention. Glass is nice as are the door panels. has trans am steering wheel, all the gauges work, has edelbrock manifold, has posi traction, has brand new rims and Yokohama YK 580 235/50R17 tires that have only a few hundred miles on them. No AC, IF you would like to see the firebird on youtube, go to youtube and type in 72 formula 400 green and black firebird. The video is under channel user hydranoid67. This is a AS IS auction no warranty please ask questions I will answer to the best of my ability. On Mar-28-16 at 19:34:48 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to let you know the radiator has been upgraded to a high capacity radiator, also this auction has been viewed 1,700 + times and has 110 watchers as of 3/28/2016 7:34 PST the reserve is past the 1/3 mark of reaching the sold price, good luck.On Apr-01-16 at 17:20:54 PDT, seller added the following information: Not much movement in the price over the last week, over 3,500 views and 167 watchers. After watching the prices on 1970-73 formulas over the past 5 years I have decided to keep the car if the reserve is not met. the current bid is past the half way point as of 4/1/2016 at 5:17pm PST, It sucks that I'll have to park the car outside but I've seen formulas sell for at least 7,500 in not as good condition as my firebird.
