1983 Mercedes-Benz 380 SL Convertible                             Very nicely appointed 380SL with only 66,400 original miles and two-owner history!  Features 14″ light alloy wheels, independent suspension, 4-wheel disc brakes, climate control air conditioning, full power accessories, and more!  Complete with owner’s manuals, data plate, factory tools, and fully rebuilt fuel delivery system in 2016!   The Mercedes Benz W107 chassis was one of the longest running models in their history. This chassis ran underneath various bodies starting in 1971 all the way through to 1989. One of the most sought after and collectible today are the SL-Class vehicles featuring the ever popular convertible sport car design! Some notable changes on the newly introduced 380SL series in 1980 would include a 4-speed automatic transmission, and the following year, more fuel efficient engines with a more highway friendly gear ratio. This model would cater to buyers from 1980 through mid-1985. Today, they represent an easy way to get into a classy investment vehicle with timeless good looks, along with excellent road going manners! It survives wonderfully from its former two Tennessee owners; the original purchaser from Bowling Green, and the former second owners from Nashville since 2006. This is a December 2012 built unit and comes with some later generation enhancements to make it appear newer than it is. These include 14” light allow wheels from a 560SL, along with a third bank light located on the outer edge of the trunk lid. These were common upgrades for owners who realized simple changes kept your Mercedes looking like it was as new at the latest showroom model! This particular car shows only 66,413 carefully driven miles on the odometer and is complete with original owner’s manual, maintenance booklet, original owner ID tag, operation cards for climate control system & cruise control, original dealer brochure, factory tool kit, original spare & jack, one top release tool, one standard key, and one valet key. Once arrived to the St. Louis Car Museum, it was treated to a complete fuel system restoration from lack of being driven on a more regular basis over the past few years. This included a complete fuel tank replacement, new CIS fuel pump & accumulator, fuel filter & screen, fuel sending unit, 8 new injectors & seals, and adjusted warm up regulator. This effort was completed professionally by GLB Motorworks here in St. Louis totaling over $2,560. Further servicing included oil/filter change, new air cleaner, hood insulation pad, air pump filter, and wiper blades. All receipts will be provided to the net lucky owner. The Cooper Lifeliner Touring tires appear as brand new, along with a completely new exhaust system with chrome oval tip.
