Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very good, complete, original Jaguar E-type 2+2 Coupe for easy straightforward restoration. This car was recently purchased from it's long term California owner who took the car off the road in 1988 for some minor mechanical tuning for emissions. Unfortunately the car sat until recently and never made it back onto the road. It will require some recommissioning before being driven again. The body appears to be in excellent preserved condition and is totally rust free, save for only 2 rust spots: a small area on the lower part of the passenger door and a small spot on the LH rear wheel arch behind the wheel. Panel fit and bonnet condition is excellent. The car is totally complete with matching numbers and the mileage appears to be very believable and correct. The interior trim has benefited from the front and rear seats being recovered at some point in vinyl, along with a replacement headliner. The rest of the trim appears largely original and existing items will most likely clean up well. The windshield was replaced at one time with a correct Triplex item and is in perfect condition. The car was fitted with factory AC, but some of those components have been removed under the hood and are not present. The correct and original engine turns very nicely by hand and minor work could yield an excellent running unit...The car includes a few boxes of removed under-bonnet items (pictured) that are included with the sale, along with the front bumper assembly and spare tire and rim. This E-type presents a rare entry-level opportunity for the Jaguar enthusiast on a budget. This car has a great California body in an attractive original color scheme and cosmetic/mechanical improvements made should be fairly straightforward.
