To say this car is rare is an understatement!! This car has been in one family since it was driven home from the dealership back in 1947! It has been garaged its whole life! This car is a really similiar to a Roadmaster. This is a super and there was a special that was one level below the Super. You know how hard to it is to find these in ANY condition much less then the very good condition that this car is in. According to the Grandkids of the original lady who bought this car it was mostly driven on nice days and it quit running in 1972 and has been parked ever since! I am listing this for my friend and I helped him get the car running! The straight 8 was not locked up but we took the plugs out and put marvel mystery oil down the cylinders and let it sit for a week before we attemped to turn it over. It spun freely and even built oil pressure while cranking it with the plugs out. We put the plugs back in and noticed it was not getting any spark,. Upon further reasearch we discoverd the points were welded shut and it that is prolly the reason it died in 1972. We installed a new set of points and put some carb cleaner in the carb and it started right up and sounded good,. We assume the gas tank needs to be cleaned or replaced and did not even try to use the original fuel system, I looked high and low for any rust holes or bubbles and did not see any. It appers to have only surface rust uder the car in the floor boards and nothng that couldnt be cleaned up. We did not try the hydraulic top and we did roll the power windows down but they wont go up. All in all a great find and bidding is starting at just 1947 with NO RESERVE so be on top to own this cool car. Auction ends this coming Saturaday night at approx 8.45 Central standard time. Sorry bout the confusion but at this point in time I dont think matters that much if it was a Special, Super or Roadmaster it would be nice to find ANY of them!!!! I had a question about the original sales invoice. My seller looked and she could not find that but she did find an insurance bill from 1957 for 4.00 dollars!!!! Man who would have ever thought insurance was four dollars!!! Also For those of you who know, this car is so close to stock original that it even has the piece of plywood that covers the spare tire, This wood was usually discarded along the way of the cars life, but this one has it!!!!!!!
