Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a beautiful moss gold 1975 Chevrolet Blazer Cheyenne 4WD convertible with the desired option 400 V8. This rarely seen factory color was offered for two years, and combined with the honey brown interior compliment this vehicle well, making it an absolute head turner. The vinyl woodgrain was a factory option in the early to mid 70's, and although this particular model rolled off the line in moss gold/frost white, I felt the woodgrain would work well with this color. The vehicle starts, idles, and runs out nicely, with smooth gear changes and brakes straight and true. It runs at optimal temperature with no signs of overheating, keeps strong and steady oil pressure, and zero exhaust smoke upon startup or while operating. Early year '75 non-cat Flowmaster dual exhaust system. New matching BFGoodrich tire set. The steering has some play, but I will attempt to diagnose and ask for assistance to repair this prior to the auction closing (if successful, I will include an update to the listing). All exterior lights, dash gauges, warning lights and dials function properly. Upon completion of an engine rebuild, the previous owner was contemplating converting the A/C system to R134, so the compressor was set aside until a decision was made. Inspecting the compressor, it spins freely but I have done nothing with it since purchase. While this is a Cheyenne model, I chose to eliminate the exterior nameplates and majority of the interior vinyl woodgrain in lieu of the exterior panels. I chose also to switch to the cleaner "K5 Blazer" nameplates used earlier in the decade. It has new paint, 3M exterior vinyl woodgrain and carpet. 1975 was the final year for the full convertible, and I had the shell covered in vinyl material and painted the interior of the shell to match the dyed custom honey brown factory original upholstery. Spending its vehicle life in New Mexico, the body and frame are solid without rot. The previous owner installed a searchlight, which I removed and had a custom side mirror adaptor created by Micon R&D to utilize the existing slot. Overall, simply a beautiful and honest example of a Chevy K5 Blazer maintained nicely throughout the years. With charm and period good looks, it is certain to bring the new owner further years of proud ownership. You will find very few Blazers still enjoying the road, and while not a rare vehicle in production numbers, you will find fewer still in this condition. I am not a dealer, and certainly not a Blazer expert -- just a guy who likes iconic and eclectic classic vehicles. And while not 100% perfect, it is dependable enough to be used as a daily driver if called upon, and certainly a vehicle which belies its 40 years of existence. If you desire an K5 Blazer which will stand out from the rest, then you just may be looking at it below. Its a durable. powerful and simple vehicle which can go through (or over) anything. Cool to drive and unquestionably commands attention -- often inducing strangers to approach inquisitively. Essentially it's a life size Tonka! Please review the photos below as I feel they are the true representation of the overall condition of the vehicle. Ask any and all questions prior to placing a bid and I will answer them as quickly and honestly as possible. Inspections are certainly welcome also prior to auction ending -- not after please, as this auction is to purchase and not to simply hold. Any repeated or pertinent questions I will display below for all to review. Reserve price is set low and the vehicle is not listed locally, so it will not disappear prior to the auction closing. If you require this vehicle to be shipped, I have had great luck shipping/receiving vehicles through www.uship.com . Check them out as they consistently beat the competition by easily 25 -- 40% or more. International bidders are certainly welcome, as I sold and shipped a Porsche to Germany earlier this year successfully and free of complication. I certainly do not intend to exclude anyone from bidding, but "zero bidders" are discouraged from placing a bid (learned unfortunately through years of non-payments) by having a valid Paypal account and contacting me prior to placing a bid. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction completion, with the balance due within 7 days. Please only bid if you are able to complete the transaction. Thank you for looking, and good luck if you choose to place a bid. *Photographs taken 3 days prior to listing.
