Vehicle Detail
1992 BMW 325i Convertible Beautiful Jet Black over Black 325iC Convertible! 71k original miles and maintained by BMW! Full tool kit, original window sticker, LSD and heated seats! Three owners and ready for the fourth! The first 3-series was introduced in 1975 as a replacement for the popular 2002, arguably the car that put BMW on the performance map in North America. Continuing on the momentum of this small, front-engine, rear-wheel-drive formula, BMW introduced the E21 generation 3er, which nearly tripled BMW’s sales figures over the course of several years. Over 1.3 million were built until the second generation E30 debuted in 1982. To the initiated, the E30 represents one of the Bavarian firm’s most iconic and stylish models, but also one that was very ahead of its time dynamically. For many, the small but sporty coupe/convertible/wagon/sedan with a manual transmission and peppy four or six cylinder power is the proper recipe for fun, and the combination of body styles, engines, rare factory options and incredible aftermarket support have led enthusiasts to give this car the nickname “God’s chariot.” Total production was 2,339,520 cars by the time production finally ended in 1993. Today, it is surprisingly difficult to find non-molested and abuse-free examples in good, presentable condition and they are collectible as a result! We are very excited to offer this 1992 BMW 325i Convertible! The car is finished in Jet Black (668 – Schwarz II) over 0203 – Black leather interior upholstery and matching black convertible top! Under the hood is the original M20 2.5L Inline 6 mated to a 4HP22 4-speed automatic transmission by ZF! Features on the car include power steering, power brakes with ABS, power convertible top, leather airbag steering wheel, on-board computer with remote control, service interval indicator, power windows, tool kit, AM/FM stereo radio with power antenna, power locks, power exterior mirrors, tinted glass, air conditioning, cruise control, BBS basketweave wheels and more! Options on top of the $36,320 base price include 4.10 25% locking limited-slip differential ($510), heated front seats ($350) and automatic transmission ($800). Total MSRP on the car after destination charge was $38,355! Per the original window sticker and records, this BMW was built in the Regensburg plant and finished on May 29th, 1992. Following import to the US by means of Port Jersey, NJ, the car arrived at Sears Imported Autos of Minnetonka, MN and was purchased by the first owner, who lived in Danville, Illinois. The clean CARFAX indicates that the first owner registered the car on 3/16/1993. By mid-1998, this same owner had only driven the car 10,162 miles when the title status was updated to his new home in Carmel, Indiana. The second owner purchased the car in June of 2006 and first registered it on 6/15/06 with 34,280 miles. He owned the vehicle until January of 2009, when the previous (3rd) owner took possession with 60,792 miles. An engineer from Zionsville, the car was maintained in a very systematic fashion with only top notch components used. Receipts and records from his ownership include rear brake rotors, pads and wear sensors, full Leatherique treatment, new floor mats, windshield washer pump, fluids flush and new thermostat, lock actuators, new canvas convertible top, belts, fuel and transmission filters, air filter, spark plugs, timing belt/tensioner, water pump, seals and gaskets, and more! Since our ownership, we contributed a new battery and starter. At least one member of the staff holds the E30 chassis BMW in highest regard, and has spent thousands of hours on r3vlimited and under the fantastic clamshell hood. That said, we know problem areas on these very well and believe that they have been addressed on this car. There is no rust, all switches work and light up accordingly, the timing belt has been replaced recently, the dash and console are crack-free, the check control works and there are no burnt pixels on the on-board computer, the odometer has never been broken, the back seat is not splitting at the seams, all door and trunk locks are functional and to reiterate once again…there is no rust! The car was gone over by us as well as local BMW specialist shop Bradley Motor Werke and upon their suggestions, we made efforts to replace the original intake boot with a new one because they are susceptible to cracks over time. In addition, the car wears its original BMW etched glass and new roundels that are crack and blemish-free. In the trunk is a FULL tool kit including towel with BMW logo that appears to have never been used as well as the original spare and tire (also never used) along with all tire changing tools. Included with the vehicle are all original manuals including service manual with service stamps from Isringhausen Imports, Haynes manual, original window sticker, optional tonneau cover accessory, available receipts and a clean CARFAX! For the BMW enthusiast or collector looking for the one of the best E30s in the best color combination, you should look no further than this car! With regular service and only 70,862 miles, this 325iC is ready for showing, collecting or cruising. We would invite any serious parties to call with additional questions! Thanks for looking!
