Offered for sale, here on ebay from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this rare and desirable early Jaguar 3.8 E-type, with a build date of approximately September of 1962. This car was recently acquired from it's previous owner who had plans to restore it, but could not because of health reasons. This is a full matching numbers car to every component, and appears to have left the factory in the early rare color scheme of Opalescent Dark Blue with a Light Blue trim. It is largely complete except for some known items missing such as the air cleaner can and collector, the front /rear windshield and cantrail chrome trim, and possibly some small hardware. The original bonnet on the car has been loosely assembled and mounted for shipping purposes. The fit is quite good, but there is some previous damage to the nose that needs attention. The body on the car is overall very decent but needs a pair of front floors and an outer LH rocker panel. The floors and trunk floor appear very solid with only some minor repairs needed. The frame rails look good. The car has been partially disassembled and includes all of the loose items pictured. The bonnet has all of it's chrome and important parts. The engine in the car appears to be in decent shape with good-looking, clean bores. It turns nicely by hand. At some point the cylinder head was removed for rebuild, has had a valve job, and needs to be re-asssembled. All of it's parts are there. The carburetors have been removed and are in a box. The speedo reads 39,000 miles. The front windshield has a crack and needs replacing. I have the rear glass in good shape packaged up safely. The rest of the glass appears original and decent. Please look at the pictures. Everything you see is included. Overall, this early E-type presents a good opportunity to secure one of these exciting and desirable cars. It is a full matching numbers example in a very attractive and unusual color factory scheme. These early E-types are proving to be great investments going forward.
