Vehicle Detail
1989 Volvo 740 GLE Station Wagon in Graphite Metallic with Black leather upholstery. This car was purchased in September of 1989 at Volvo of Westport, CT. It has had only one owner and ownership will be transferred with the original title. It has been garaged, lovingly cared for and meticulously maintained. All service has been completed on time and are up to date, full maintenance records have been kept on this car. It is in excellent condition and shows beautifully. The exterior of the car is in excellent condition with only minor imperfections. The paint holds a deep shine with no signs of fade. There is no rust anywhere on the car. There are some light scratches, scuffs, and touch ups but not many: the most prominent area of which is the painted air dam under the front bumper. The tow hook cover is missing and there are some scrapes where this piece has made contact with parking curbs. The rest of the car is remarkably free from scratches and dings. All glass, plastic, chrome, and trim pieces are in good shape and have no damage. The wheels are also in very good condition but do have some curb damage also. The interior of the car is also in very good condition. The leather is in great shape and has no holes or tears in the upholstery. The color and finish is bright and bold as a result of being garaged. The seats hold their original shape, spring and form. The dash does have a crack in the center and also has a sunglass holder and temp. gauge added. The headliner is in good condition with the exception of the sunroof section. The sunroof lining has begun to sag and has a tear. This car has not been smoked in and has no strange odors. The carpets are free from any noticeable dirt or stains and do not show fade. This model has a storage compartment under the cargo area and does not have the rear facing jump seat. Mechanically, the car is in excellent condition. The engine is strong and the transmission shifts smoothly. The suspension and steering are tight. The car does not have any leaks. The only interior functions not working properly are the sunroof ( I believe it was disconnected when the sunroof lining began to sag to prevent further damage) and the rear windows seem to only operate from the driver's door control but they do work (may be issue with child lock). All other functions, windows, seats, gauges, antenna, and climate control all work properly. A/C is cold and heat is hot. There are no check engine, air bag, ABS etc. lights on. I have two keys for the car. The owner's manual and accompanying manuals are present. The car was maintained by a combination of the dealer and a local Volvo specialist. The maintenance booklet included with the car has been completely filled out and we have a folder with receipts for services done after that. These cars have a legendary reputation for their durability, longevity, engineering and build quality. Theses models regularly cover over 300k miles and the way that this car has been maintained, it is ready to cover another 160k. Most of these wagons have been driven hard and used up. This car is a very rare find being preserved in such great condition. I have tried to describe this car as accurately and thoroughly as possible. If you have any further questions , would like specific photos or would like to see the car, please let me know.
