Vehicle Detail
1971 JAGUAR E-TYPE XKE SERIES TWO ROADSTER. 4.2 LITERS. 4-SPEED. CHROME WIRE WHEELS. POWER STEERING. AIR CONDITIONING. OLDE ENGLISH WHITE WITH RED TRIM, BLACK TOP. TWO-OWNERS. 32,300 ORIGINAL MILES. FULL MATCHING NUMBERS CAR. Offered for sale, here on Ebay, from KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS, is a highly-optioned 1970 Jaguar E-type Series Two Roadster. This very original Jaguar was just acquired from the second owner, who purchased it in 1985 from it's original first owner. It has been stored inside a heated garage at least during the full ownership of the second owner (since 1985). It is a very original and honest example with a believed recorded mileage of only 32,300. This car has had only one modest repaint over it's original paintwork, which is now showing it's age. The current paintwork has some checking, small dings, and chips but from 10 feet presents well. It is of decent driver quality but could use a repaint further down the road. The bodywork on the car is excellent and accident-free, with great panel fit. There has been some previous minor repairs to the outside edge of both front floors. The rest of the car appears completely rustfree with perfect rockers, trunk, underside, etc. The car's mechanicals are excellent as one would expect from such a low mileage example. The car starts easily from cold, has great oil pressure, and does not emit any smoke. It runs and drives very well and pulls strongly through it's crisp-shifting 4-speed gearbox. The car rides confidently, quietly, and smoothly. There is one tappet that could use adjustment. The power steering rack leaks and could use some attention. The original chrome wheels are excellent with a newer tire set fitted. Recent work to make it roadworthy includes a new brake master cylinder and brake service, new mufflers with resonators, rebuilt starter motor, battery, water pump, belts, hoses, and a tune up.The interior trim on this car is totally original and in very good condition. It looks very correct for the car's mileage. The front carpets have been recently renewed with the correct color and type of Wilton Wool material to match the existing trim. A new, black Robbins quality softtop has just been professionally fitted with new rear tack wood, side seals and header seal. The factory original old Jaguar softop has been saved. The car still retains it's original top boot in beautiful condition. All instruments are functioning correctly. The radio console needs some minor assembly. The car's chrome, glass, and rubber is in overall very nice condition. This car is sold with it's original black top boot, a white tonneau cover in crush grain vinyl, knockoff hammer, wheel removal tool, jack in the bag, and history file with maintenance/parts receipts. The car is sold with it's original New York transferable registration card which serves as it's title (suitable for export), since New York doesn't issue titles for cars of this age. This car is located in Southern California just an hour away from the Los Angeles port. It can be viewed by appointment. $54,900. KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS. 909-920-9221, work. 909-241-1051, cell.
