Vehicle Detail

1956 AUSTIN HEALEY 100-4. DARK METALLIC GREEN WITH BLACK TRIM. 4-SPEED. UPGRADED 60-SPOKE PAINTED WIRE WHEELS. TWIN FOGLAMPS. OLDER RESTORATION. NICE DRIVER. NEVADA CAR.VIN # BN2L228658BODY # 5487 10671 KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS, presents for auction here on Ebay, this attractive early Austin Healey 100-4 model. The 100 was the first Austin Healey model produced, and is desirable today for it's purity of line, clean good looks, and mechanical simplicity. This car runs and drives very well, and is still presenting nicely after receiving an older restoration. This car is finished in a striking opalescent dark green paintwork that suits the lines of the model. The interior is very clean and presentable, trimmed in the modest materials of black loop carpeting and comfortable vinyl seats. There is a very nice, newer Robbins softtop that fits the car well. The car is also supplied with correct weather equipment which includes a Robbins tonneau cover and sidecurtain set with a storage bag (pictured). All of the instruments are functioning well. The trunk has an upgraded carpet kit. The correct 4-cylinder engine starts easily on the button and is in very good health. Oil pressure registers a healthy 50-60 psi on start up, settling into 30 psi hot at idle. The car has no exhaust smoke on start up or even when running, and the engine temperature stays cool. The torquey unit pulls well in any gear and has a strong and robust exhaust note. The car is fitted with a BN-1 gearbox with the first gear blanking plate removed, making it a useful four-speed gearbox with overdrive. The wire wheels have been upgraded from the standard 48-spoke to stronger and newer 60-spoke silver painted wire wheels, fitted with 165x15 radial tires in like new condition. The car runs, drives, stops, steers as one would expect from a 100-4 Healey. The bodywork and panel gaps on the car are decent for a 100-4. There is the typical small crack in the trunk lid where the lifting stay attaches and in the bonnet where the catch is. The paintwork is showing the normal amount of chips and small dings from roughly 30 years of minimal use on the road. But it is testament to the fact that the car has been enjoyed and properly used ! During it's last restoration, fiberglass rocker panels were utilized instead of metal, but they won't be rusting anytime soon...a simple and straightforward fix down the road. The undercarriage looks very decent with very solid main floors, outriggers, and trunkfloor. There is some rust-through on the RH inner rocker that could use some attention at some point. The main rails look very good. The chrome work is a mixture of a lot of new items with some nice original pieces. Most pieces appear new or replated. Overall, a very attractive and completely usable 100-4, without the worry of owning a $100,000 show car. This car is very approachable in it's current condition, and should be continued to be driven as is. This car is located in Southern California and can be inspected by appointment. It is sold with a clear Nevada title. KURT TANNER RESTORATIONS. 909-920-9221, work. 909-241-1051, cell.
